The fans weren’t booing the players, they were booing all that. Some American fans didn’t seem to grasp that though, so it was immensely satisfying when Canada won it in America while they tried to boo the anthem and talk their trash (while not having the context that Canadian fans have to do so).
All that being said, I’m still a Matthew Tkachuk fan, ever since his days as a Calgary Flame. Just not when he’s on Team USA playing against Team Canada.
