    I disagree with the blanket statements being made here and elsewhere that Sullivan is “hands down a Top 3 coach in the NHL. He inherited a stacked team with tons of guys in their prime, several of them future Hall of Famer’s, that had already won and was ready to win more.

    Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang, MAF, Rust, Hornqvist, Hagelin, and Bonino all essentially in their primes, and this other fella named Guentzel who was already on the way.

    This current Ranger situation is quite in contrast to the one Sullivan walked into out in Pittsburgh 10 years ago. In fact it’s not even remotely in the same ballpark. Any one expecting this coach to perform miracles based on his “stanley cup resume” is likely to be disappointed.

    The last time Sullivan’s Penguins won a playoff round was all the way back in 2018.

    Is there even a perfect coach for the situation the Rangers are in? We aren’t rebuilding so a brand new coach doesn’t make sense. The rangers really did the right thing hiring Sullivan. They hired the best coach they possibly could at this time now Sullivan should be safe for the full 5 years. Drury has to put the right team in front of Sullivan.

    From here on in, everything wrong or bad that happens to this team(excluding catastrophic injuries) is Chris Drury’s fault, PERIOD!

    Rangers are off to a BLISTERING start to this offseason. Can't believe that a mega talent like Parsinen would even consider resigning with us. Happy days are surely here!!!
