  1. You just witnessed an even better ending in Winnipeg 24 hours later! But I’m happy for Dallas too! HATE the Avs and Blues.

  2. I was incredibly shocked when Rantanen was traded. I was more so when Carolina shipped him to Dallas. The man is a beast. Sad that Winnipeg will be their next opponent. I really like both teams. As long as either makes the finals, I will be happy.

  3. When I tell you I felt heartbroken, laying on my bed as the game kept playing after the MacKinnon goal, I mean it. I genuinely was thinking "This is it, this is how it ends this year? One of our biggest, if not THE biggest rival in our history, is gonna send us packing in front of a sold out crowd in our own barn."

When Rantanen scored that first goal, I jumped up and started thinking again "We got some life, please keep the pressure on." And they did exactly that. The wraparound got me feeling like a 10 year old again, all giddy as they tied it with six minutes I think. And then Johnston. Wyatt "Future Captain of the Dallas Stars" Johnston does it yet again in his office, with the mind boggling shots on the left bar. I even said before the game started, "Johnston needs to come up big here like last year against Vegas." AND HE DID JUST THAT. We gotta face Winnipeg now in the second round, but I feel much more confident in these guys than I already was.

  4. A great game by Dallas!
But they're walking into an angry nest of hornets named the Winnipeg Jets. Maybe next year for the Stars, eh?

  5. This loss is a tough pill to swallow as an Avs fan, but I'd rather it be a loss to the Stars than anyone else. They played really well. The loss being heavily contributed by Rantanen is the true bitter pill. Dude was an awesome Avalanche player. Hate to see him go.
