A guy I knew had no idea about that gland and ground it into some homemade sausage and tried to feed it to his wife and kids for breakfast. They never ate deer meat again. YUK!!!
that gland right there is responsible for so many people thinking venison is all gamey and horrible… processors miss it, it gets in the ground, whole batch tastes like stank and nobody wants to try deer ever again… 🙁

It's not cutting this gland, amongst others, which gives venison the off putting gamey taste it can have . Been telling folks about this for years.
Even on goats, I've know about this for atleast 34 years and I've just reached 40 years 😅😅
I never knew and I have Butchered just about Every Deer I Have Ever Taken Since I was 12 years Old. And I Ma 60 years old now
You'll find that in domestic sheep too.

Lymph nodes are scattered throughout the body and are part of the immune system. What is special about this one?

We’ve never removed them and have never had bad meat because of it.
Anal glands are what cause E coli
Soak it in water….makes good deer scent
I’m glad I saw this. I will remove those extra carefully and save them for venison stew when my mother in law comes over.
Been there done that
That meat doesn’t look dry aged. Have you stopped doing that?
If you eat that gland raw will it get you high?
Warning.. If you slice into this gland.. STOP USING THAT KNIFE!! That gland will taint the flavor of your meat if the Knife is not cleaned properly.
