Oiler fan but feel for the Kings and their fans. Games 3 and 4 we had huge horseshoes up our butts till the OT of game 4. So many things went our way in those games in spite of being soundly outplayed: the dumb dumb coach's challenge, the Fiala post, the non tripping call with the goalie pulled, the Byfield turnover… anyone of those things doesn't happen and this series is likely over for us. BTW, reffing has been atrocious this series with obvious infractions by both teams not being called. Sure hope the Oilers keep playing like they did in game 5 but if we are able to get by LA, I sure ain't filled with confidence about the next round, especially without Ekholm. Hope I'm wrong but we'll see if we can close this one out.

I thought the Kings played a good game. The oilers were just having an insane game. hard to play against that
Well it was definitely the Oilers best game of the post season. The Kings definitely out played them for the first two games, and the Oilers won two games where they performed unevenly. The first two games were weird, i thought the Kings seemed more motivated, Skinner was dreadful and Knobllauch strangely chose to experiment with unusual lines. Some Oilers players back from injury late in the season looked sluggish. But almost going down 3-1 seemed to wake them up. Game five could have been 5-1if Kuemper hadn't been stellar for the Kings.
Its just one game…the Kings can easily win game 6 and 7.

I'll say it for you Eddie. Hiller is the problem. This series should of been a sweep.
The Oilers diminated game from the very first puck drop. If Kemp was so good in met it would have been 4 nothing in the first period lol. It could go 7.. but I don't give the Kings any chance of winning in Edmonton so I doubt it.

Oilers fans in the comments drowning LA Kings fans comments. Why? Either they’re bored out of their mind because Edmonton has nothing but hockey and a mall, or their fans are have zero class. I think both, both sounds more like it.

As a neutral if you guys lose I can’t see how you don’t do a massive retool and fire everyone in hockey opps. Losing to the same team four years in a row in round one? Has that happened since there’s been more than 12 teams in the league? I watched OT of game four and all of game five and have no idea how the kings weren’t swept. Is skinner actually that bad?
Also i don’t care about team depth on paper. If your coach is only playing 9 forwards and 4 defensemen you aren’t the deeper team. Borderline delusional to say the kings have more depth.
If you truly think about it this series should’ve been swept by the kings but those mistakes cost them a sweep! The goalie interference challenge single handedly cost them the game and the next game they played defense and lost the game when it was won from there. HILLER needs to be gone, he had a horrible temper, is a terrible coach and can’t make any good decisions when needed most.
As an Oilers fan i think this was our best game all year
The fact your saying your not giving the Oilers enough credit repeatedly just proves the fact that the Oilers are the better team when they are firing on all cylinders offensively and defensively. They are a week oiled machine just took them a few games to gel cause of all the injury problems
Kings have only beat the oilers in the post season twice ever, with 8 losses, all first round. Oilers are Kings kryptonite as my wife says.
As Kelly Hrudey says reflecting back on 91: I thought we were real close. We just didn’t know how to win. The Oilers had so much experience and they just knew how to win. Every time we ran into those guys, it just seemed like we didn’t have enough to beat them. Tom Webster coming on as our coach added a defensive element to our game. But, still, we just couldn’t beat Edmonton. I really believed if we could just beat those guys we would have won a championship. We’ll never know though.
Somehow the Kings can't figure out how to beat Edmonton when it matter most. It's a mental issue.
The Kings have let off the gas in the third period in pretty much every game in this series but definitely in games three and four standout and to think they were going to coast for a win is naive. This should’ve been a sweep. Kings needed to win in 4 or 5 imo to advance. Longer the series goes, the worst for the kings. Hiller def blew it in game 3 with the challenge but probably woulda still lost if it went to OT as the kings looked lost and gassed. Same feel and result for game 4, no gas in the 3rd, coach still didn’t correct the emotion and desire for his players to continue to play hard in 3rd periods and to not allow opposing team to throw kitchen sink in our end and byfield brain fart didn’t help either. Game 4 was the pivotal must game to win and they blew it again! With a Darcy Keumper performance of a lifetime for the ages. You just cant recover from 2 blown losses ! Kings in game five never even showed up. Their minds were still on game three and four sadly Edmonton’s probably got this thing sewed up in six should’ve would’ve could’ve.
Full marks to the Oilers for a total shutdown of LA on Tuesday night. It would seem like the Kings losing three in a row seals the deal against them
Game 6 in Edmonton, but that type of thinking doesn't work anymore. All arrows would point to Edmonton closing it out tonight, but this is a league of parity. The last out is so hard to get, the Kings so badly outplayed in G5, you could look at this way-they got their home loss outta the way, they're 0-2 in Edmonton. I like the Kings tonight to force a game 7. And I like them in that.
I still think the Kings win this series. Don't let the oilers beat you l.a, you will never hear the end of it.

The Oilers are finally getting healthier….just shows how much deeper and talented they are than the kings. The only player saving the kings from total embarrassment is their goalie.
Moore on the GWG was absolute trash. Just an embarrassing shift and sequence of 3-4 lazy plays that led to the goal.
Come on man they meant best game of the year that would have been a 7-1 blowout if it wasn't for Darcy Kuemper, who by the way was unbelievable in that game.
I want to believe ! But i will say this…. if they lose…. NO More attempting to build around Kopitar and Doughty. Their time has come and gone. DD is playing like a 5M dollar player, not 11m. No reason he needs to be playing 26 min, ridiculous !!!! Time to hand over the torch. Those guys need to be smaller pieces.
Been a LA kings fan my entire life but we suck this team looks so good in the regular season but can never do anything in the playoffs I’ll admit it this team sucks 🥴😓
