  1. Both teams paying respect to David Savard after his last game, with the Caps waiting until all the Canadians had paid their respects on the ice.

  2. Habs had the black horse vibe, but with the complete meltdown the chance of these playoffs seeing a black horse team this year died.

  3. considering they were in last place in december and chance of making playoffs was zero they did excellent..Washington was just too big and experienced but next year they will definitely be expected to make the playoffs….they were one year ahead on their rebuild.Savard is now retired but he got his cup which a lot do not.

  4. I love what I've seen from my beloved team. Savard is out (thank you for your service), Reinbacher is in (please may the Gods favor your health).

  5. This was a great series, and I think it opened the eyes of the young guns as to how to play team hockey. Caps could make a deep run.

  6. Great heart by the Habs. The coaches clearly have the confidence of the players. The rebuild is on track. Thank you for a great season. Go Habs Go.

  7. Better team won but the Habs have the room and the picks to really push this off season and solidify themselves as a playoff contender next year. I am very excited to see what Jacob Fowler can show at camp though I think a full year in Laval will do him well

  8. It is a sad outcome for the series for me. I had hoped the Canadiens could surprise the Capitals but the Caps' playoff experience never gave the Canadiens an opening.
The better team won but I am disappointed anyway.

  9. I know Ovi says he’s coming back, but if they somehow win the cup, he has the record he has a second cup, it could be very very tempting to call it quits on the nhl and go home and play a season or two in the khl or just quit playing hockey

  10. no refs you suck counter because Washington has nothing to complain about. This is undeniable proof the games are rigged! /s

GG, Thompson was insane and the 2 quick goals in the first completely deflated us

  11. That's your true love for hockey in it's purest form I am a Hab fan glad to get your perspective in the future.

  12. im a habs fan and idk why i have a feeling we wont make the playoffs next season. unless we go get a second center, i dont see us competing

  13. Man the habs are a fun and fast team. Good fight in them and a good warm up series for the Caps. Can’t wait to see Montreal back

  14. The comments here are so great to read! And thank you Shannon, and glad to see you pulling for these Habs. They are indeed a fun group of guys. Lots of heart, talent, and with more experience and growth together…man, watch out league. I think their power play is going to be lethal for years to come.
Proud of this team. They are the most resilient and gutsy Habs team I’ve seen in decades. Never quit…all year. Kudos the Marty as well. I just love this group.
Hats of to the Capitals! That’s a solid team there. Tough, gritty, skilled, poised…I don’t see any major weakness. Good luck vs the Canes!

  15. 5:15 Hutson sure would have loved it if Ethan Bear was in the lineup… Thanks for the great review! I guess we might have a second round game before the end of the first round once again

  16. Loved seeing both Habs and Sens make the playoffs, the latter finally got to where they wanted to be and the former overachieved even. Very proud of both teams, and so much fun to watch both of them succeed and be unexpectedly good playoff opponents too – would've been happy even if they got swept. I mean, the Sens are still alive, and it is the Leafs, but…

  17. As a Caps fan I must say the Canadiens have a bright future ahead of them with this young team. They really impressed me.
Washington and Carolina will be brutal. Let’s go Caps!!❤

  18. Problem with the Habs is that their key players are small and soft like Caufield and Hutson. Age wont fix that. Suzuki is soft as well. They are missing those well rounded players that give you a bit of everything that can play in all scenarios.

  19. I can see why a lot of people wanted to put us on upset watch. Montreal has a lot of young talent and a real ability to match energy. Shoutout to Dobes for stepping in and still keeping their chances alive – He had some dynamite saves. I'm excited to see them keep building on a strong foundation and take over as a contender sooner rather than later.

Caps in seven over Canes. Series is going to be intense.

  20. Habs were 17th overall at end of season with 91 pts while the Flames were 15th with 96 pts. The Habs won a playoff game against the second best team overall in the NHL regular season this year. Canucks were 18th overall with 90 pts. Only two of the seven Canadian teams missed the playoffs though the Sens might get eliminated tonight but that does mean the Leafs move to round two. The Oilers are ahead in their series. Jets were the top team in the NHL. Quite possible for three of seven Canadian teams of the five that made the playoffs will be in the final eight NHL teams of thirty-two overall. I not only think Habs fans should be proud of the Habs but Canadians should be proud of all Canadian teams. No matter who wins the Cup, Canada just plays at a higher level overall than the USA. Signed, a Blackhawks fan.

  21. Really proud of my habs , the guys left it all in the ice. To experience playoffs at belle centre again was electric I haven’t felt that much excitement in years hats off to the caps was a good series GO HABS GO

  22. Damn can't wait to see how Canadiens fair next season.

*edit nooo we lost the ref. you hrm counter so sad snif snif

  23. Next year Habs will be scary, all the young guys with more experience, Laine in full health and on a contract year, Monty's rise as a 1A goalie will continue to increase in quality, Mailloux will join in at the blue line, his stats say he's ready, same for Florian Xhekaj, second best goal scorer in Laval, with Barré-Boulet but B-B isn't given much of a chance to play with the Habs despite some not so negligible facts such that he finished first in points and equal with Florian in goals, thing is, he's tiny and we already have enough guys under 5'11 (Barré-Boulet). Reinbacher for some reason is in the press box and not playing despite not being injured, when he came back from his injury he just got the 4 pts in 8 games, which boded well, but then he just stopped playing, anybody knows why? Even AI doesn't, heh. Also, we'll have some choices to make with veterans with expiring contracts, and also, are we putting back Dach on the wing? Because they seem decided on who the centres will be, Suzuki, Evans, Kapanen and I hope they resign Dvorak, he's a quality third line centre with an offensive upside, he's had his best season ever (I think), or at least equal to his best season in Arizona. So that makes four, but there's always the free agents, and I think they should definitely bring in some talented, experienced second liner, if the possibility arises with the larger amount of cap space they will have. Also a bonus, next season is the last season where we have to Pay The Price, imagine if he had been healthy and in goals this year…ugh, I've over him though so I'm really happy it's the last season he gets paid 11.5 mil to sit down at home.

  24. Good effort by the Habs. Glad the young kids got to see playoff hockey in the Bell Centre. Looking forward to the offseason. We have 4 first round picks in the next two years. Now is the time to use them in trades instead of draft picks.

  25. It's pretty wild. I'm a Caps fan and normally after a series, I'll hate the opposing team with a passion. I honestly felt a bit sad seeing the handshake line and Savard saying goodbye to everyone, he was obviously a bit emotional. I can't say anything negative about a habs either, despite this being a pretty wild series at times. Hats off to Habs, what an effort they put up and what an exciting future that core looks to be!

  26. I'd like to congratulate the 4 refs, they did a really good job in that last game. Game 1,2 and 4 were atrocious to watch. It was embarrassing. At least we got to see some good and fair hockey in the end. Caps were the better team and they deserve the series. Good luck and go win the cup!

  27. Such a shame habs did not score in the 10 1rst minutes. If they did the fame would have been completly different.

  28. Great series, it was fun hockey! Proud of the young guys, getting a taste of the playoffs is important for the future! gl to Washington in the next round!

  29. I am very proud and pleased with the Habs. The entire organization will take what they learned in this run for next year. I was hoping Gally, Demidov, and Heineman would get goals so at least one did.
