As a Canes fan I would rather the games be postponed. 4 out of the top 6 are on protocol.Centers Aho, staal, wingers Jarvis, and Svech. 4th liner Lorentz. D- Ian Cole. Well okay Staal has fallen out of the top six. But still. Plus cap issues so they will be short on players for the first game. Martinook will be out until the 23rd at best. The only good news is that Tony D and Pesce will be back.

Gillies is the only goalie I've ever seen who had his career ruined by a non-goal. He was hyped a few years ago as the Flames goalie of the future, and they were working him into games after he got out of college. He was doing all right until one game, don't remember who the Flames were playing, some opponent took a shot from around his own blue line, and GIllies completely missed it, but it didn't go in the net. After that, the coach (maybe Gulutzan?) never trusted Gillies, didn't want to put him in games. When GIllies got in, he was shaky and played poorly, his confidence was obviously shot, and soon was sent back to the minors and was never seen again. When he returned to the NHL with St. Louis this year I thought I'd seen a ghost. Didn't know he was still playing,
Well I can't believe that the NHL is going down this road again with the protocol list. I am checked and surprised that the NHL considers taking care of their players but giving them a $1 million celery cap on top of that. I think that players in the NHL deserve better and going through another covid-19 is not going to help them matters at all. They should have looked into this a long time ago in the NHL didn't do anything about it that is so shocking and surprised to me that they're not doing enough to help with this pandemic.

NHL should not go to China. Use Olympic time to play games missed due to omnicron. Is omnicron really that dangerous? Are people that had original covid getting omnicron? All I hear is there are cases. We always had cases of the flu every winter. Just be ready with ivermectin, monoclonal anti-bodies, Pfizer has a therapueutic pill. Lets get back to living our lives. Get your sleep, eat healthy, good hygene. Be extra nice to all the people working through this pandemic. Some of them are unvaccinated, support their employment, most probably have anti-bodies. Honor labor! Remember, people are working so some of us can go to games or watch at home. Tip restaurant, retail workers for getting us the products we need. Presidents and Prime Ministers don't produce anything. They are over-rated.

Is the NHL not doing taxi squads because it would make it too tough difficult for the AHL teams? Seems like things are going to snowball quick if the NHL does not make adjustments soon.
Byram has been dealing with concussion (singular). One concussion off of a dirty hit from Vegas' Keegan Kolesar. One that was completely unpunished either by the Avs or the league. Incredibly frustrating if his career is in anyway held back by this. He is such a talent
In the past journos were always saying the players want to go to the Olympics. I'm sure that's mostly true for younger players but I'm sure many veterans would prefer the time off. It would have been easy enough for a journo to conduct an off the record survey of players concerning this but they're too lazy and wedded to their own inclinations to do that.
