This might not be seen by the guys but I hope it gets to them. Heck I hope you read it on the episode Monday :D. I already saw this episode on TV, I watched it live on 360. But I just had to come add my comment because it was so good and not just because the leafs won.
You guys are hands down the best. Seriously. The best breakdown of not just the leafs but every series and content going on in the hockey world. I'm grateful that you are representing leaf fans because other fanbases are missing out not having a full hour to just their team haha. You have the best guests. Your dynamics and conversations are polarizing, rational and irrational at the same time (ok maybe mostly just Sammy on that last part haha). The conflict. The comradery. So good, very underrated show.
The only downsides are the lack of jersey budget and the "I still can't get the merch" challenge. Actually you want my suggestion for both? Do a golf tournament and invite your fans!!! Do a draw to pick names of who would be eligible to buy a ticket and build those funds up haha; a draw to be fair since there's probably a lot of interest of course. Then get out and spread all the guests / hosts / analysts you bring on the show among the carts to play with fans (1 celeb 1 fan per cart). Everybody wins with a day on the green with your favourite sports coverage casts and fans.
Before ending the comment here, I wanted to quickly speak to Kyper's question (he was on fire this episode). Do leaf fans want more? We always want more, we're never happy until the cup has been secured and even then having another always will be the goal. Even if we don't show that type of winning hunger outwardly, I guarantee you its there – we're never satisfied because a winners mindset never is; the fanbase is mostly just nervous so that winning pedigree attitude doesn't show first. This team makes a finals and I know it'll feel and look different – just look at oiler's fans today (congrats btw, yall surprised me too! well done). That game 6 for the leafs felt different because the stars did show up, but while they weren't "super" dominate like we've seen them able to be, they were noticeable and they pushed, they battled when the moments called for it. They became the best players on the ice for one shift when it needed them to be. Then something amazing happened, you watched the commitment from every other support player to follow: Knies skating incredibly hard to beat out that icing. The 3rd line disguised as a 4th line keeping the puck in Ottawa's end eating away the clock with less than 5 mins to go. OEL and Benoit matching against Stuzle and breaking up cycles with hip checks! Berube is right that it takes a team to win, but he missed out saying that it starts with the leaders showing how to. The leaders of this team this year found a way to show how and buy time for the rest of the team to join the fight. That's the difference. That's why we get round 2. Now can they find another gear to do the same thing to get a round 3? Always hungry.

Kyper is so right about Matthews constantly complaining about “the outside noise”. I am so tired of hearing him and Marner complain about having fans who care about the team and want them to play well and win. They come across as entitled brats sometimes. If it wasn’t for the fans, they wouldn’t have those 8 figure contracts. As Kyper said, bring the fans in. Don’t cause a divide with them. Someone in Leafs management needs to speak to Matthews because he’s not showing true leadership there.

Kype I didn't watch game 5 because I had a feeling it was going to be bad and then I wanted to skip game 6 but had a feeling it was tonight or never (I would have skipped game 7 I have skipped every game 7 since the Tampa win because I am tired of heart break…. so I load up the score that night or next day…. if they win like in tampa I watch the replay….. if they lose…… I just pretend like its any other day) That boston loss in OT didn't kill me like others because I prepared for the loss.

Sammy is a huge Leafs homer, Hagel got what he deserved, hockey hit you say? Look past your sad hopes that TB was going to knock us out or make the road easier somehow with the hit he made. Hagel started the dirty play in that series and Panthers finished it. Stop being a homer man. If that was the core 4 the defending of the play wouldn't exist at all. You got exactly what he was looking for, and like Kyper said you don't get to choose the payback you earned.

Woll should've started game 4. Im torn on him starting the upcoming game 1, but I will say that Stolarz hasn't been lights out recently and I think we can all agree that the main reason he started against Ottawa is because he was on one hell of a heater and not because Woll wasnt any good. Woll's ceiling, especially in playoffs, is higher, and his playoff stats are ridiculously good. I'd really like to see if he can be that good again. If he can, then I'd like to see him run with it. U can always go back to Stolarz if it doesn't work
I agree I would like to see Woll in net. I think Woll is the better goalie for a must win game. I think he plays better in more high stake games . Nothing wrong with Stolarz. Leafs defense has been very good though and they have been keeping everything to the outside for the most part. Woll does though seem to struggle at tracking the puck . I think Anthony is the better goalie but just not in high pressure games. He can still hold his own though in my opinion.

I agree 100% about the "noise" narrative coming from the core in interviews. They need to stop alienating their own fans. It's easy: Own their lack of effort. Admit the occasional obvious mistake. Give 100% every game. Leafs fans are not hard to please, despite what some of the players pretend. We're also not stupid. Many of us have played competitive hockey or other sports. We recognize true effort when we see it.
By rallying "in the room" and blocking us out as mere "noise," team leaders like Matthews and Marner are essentially making this a THEM vs US showdown, with "us" meaning the freaking fans that have supported them for years, and in many cases, decades. It's a major reason why so many fans have been calling for the core to be split up ever since the Habs series. Calling us nothing but "white noise" embarrasses us, but more importantly, it makes a couple of them thoroughly unlikable.
Luckily, most of "us" cheer for the logo, not the name tags.
