How can Oilers make things easier for themselves?

TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss the Oilers comeback win over the Kings Sunday to tie the series, Evan Bouchard continuing to come up clutch in the big moments, and how the Oilers can find a way to get off to a better start. The guys also discuss the Jets Game 4 loss to the Blues and if there should be a concern about Connor Hellebuyck’s ability to bounce back.

  1. Bouchard actually didn't play that well. Go watch the 3 goal the Kings got. We win the draw into Bouchard Give Away and then slow backcheck- doesn't take his man. This happened quite a bit in the game. His play had high highs, but Low Lows.

  2. Biron with such depth analysis. The best Goalie in the league can’t bounce back. He just suddenly forgot how to play…yup.

  3. In response to the title of a TSN video in question, I believe allowing under 3 goals would make life a little bit easier for the Oilers. Still, allowing under 4 goals, in the first game all series, is a step in the right direction.

  4. who caused 2 that i can verify from footage goals against prior to putting 2 in the net. let's see if you correct that. not diminishing the right wing or front play he kicked ass on, however as a D position hes absolutely horrific . which is why there is now conversations from a suggestion i described .

He gets moved to a winger position NO LONGER ON D SLOT, and bring a few others to shore up what currently leaks too many stupid lack of effort or forethought failures causing directly from their failure in D position, to be really DUMB goals against . ill let you go back and look at the game footage . i have tracked previous 28 games in a row where goals against and in many of those the direct cause of the teams loss directly as a cause of that horrific D position effort .

The move to winger is where he will fit far better as performance in past 2 games clearly confirms. Look for this up coming ( will be controversial absolutely however its the right decision) change very soon .

  5. If Bouchard would actually play defense, he wouldn't have to score. All three goals can be laid at his feet. He's the worst Dman the Oilers have by far. Play him at forward.

  6. Bouchard played with tenacity in the second half of the game too. If he can implement that type of defensive play more than the usual lackadaisical stuff, he can be an elite all-around defenseman.

  7. St. Louis figured out Hellybuck? You mean they just started throwing random pucks at the net and hoped they won the game of plinko? He will be fine.

  8. Calvin Pikkard earned the right to be in the net moving forward! The Oilers play with more confidence, calm and control. Yes, tgey had their give always which has ti be cleaned up plus powerplay still needs more work to be consistent in scoring for game 5

  9. The kings have been grossly overrated by these so called "Analysts." The Oil havent even played half as good as they can yet. Kings are as mid as it gets

  10. Simple. get ANY other goalies, and virtually any other defencemen. Move Bouchard up to the wing, he only brings offence, he doesn't belong on the blue line. We have an AHL level back half.

  11. 🛑DARNEL NURSE WAS -3 and ON FOR ALL GOALS AGAINST LAST NIGHT VS KINGS‼️… OILERS CANNOT WIN CUP WITH THIS TERRIBLE DEFENCEMAN AS HE WAS THE STORY LAST YEAR IN PLAYOFFS WHERE HE WAS AN ASTOUNDING -13 AND SINGLE HANDEDLY LOST THE STANLEY CUP FOR OUR CITY.. DARNEL NURSE IS UNABLE TO COMPETE AT THE NHL LEVEL AND OILERS HAVE SUFFERED FOR YEARS WITH THIS BAD DECISION MAKING LAZY PLAYER‼️🛑
