The Leafs aren't the same team they were in 2023. In the view of many, they're harder to play against & assuming they get playoff caliber goaltending, they are capable of an upset. In 2023 Samsonov was sub-par after being really good vs Tampa in what was basically an upset. Toronto outplayed Florida in 4 of the 5 games & Bobrovsky simply continued his heater that started game 5 down 3-1 vs Boston. Maurice, after the series said "Bob stole 2 games that we had no business winning". He was correct. Every game except game one (4-2 Fla win) was low scoring & decided by one goal, with 2 in OT. Woll played after they were already down 3-0. He won game 4 (2-1) & lost game 5 (3-2) in OT. He was .944 for his 2 starts. If Bob goes 'Vezina Bob' they'll be hard to beat.

Good job bro, a couple things Im going to call you on . Florida is miles ahead of Tampa Lightening in a seven game series and so is Toronto. Tampa would not beat Toronto in a series. So put that to bed right now. Toronto in six just as they beat them three years ago. So your comment of whomever came out of the Florida and Tampa would go to the cup is wrong. There is no way Tampa could beat Toronto. Especially the way Vasilevskiy played in that series. Also Chris Tanev came via Dallas, Calgary and Vancouver. No Boston. Brandon Carlo came from Boston. And who cares what haters say. Lets see there team beat Florida. They are the best team in hockey. That Marchand trade them back on top by quite a bit. I believe Toronto is one of the few teams who could scrape out a series win against them. However, every Leaf player would have to play the best hockey of their life.
The numbers from the first round are crazy when you consider who each team played. Florida has the edge in everything but PP% while facing the top offense in the league. They got more goals per game against a current Vezina finalist and held the Art Ross winner to 0 goals for the second year in a row. Really impressive stuff

This is the first time I ever remember a 3 seed being favored -180 over a 1 seed. I think Florida will steam roll the Leafs in 5. They are too physical for the Leafs and added a true Leafs killer in Marchand.

GL Leafs. I feared Tampa a lot more than Toronto, but you guys look much better under Berube. Cats are just different in the playoffs, thankfully. It will be good hockey regardless.

If Toronto win this series. It will be 7 games and they need to win the first game. It will be an massive shocker they win the first two games. They have the first two games in Toronto. However, it's a 50/50 right now. Also, everything is saying this series will be 7 games because it is doesn't matter want people said.
I've made the constant mistake of betting against the defending champs in sports who've gone to consecutive championships (a.k.a the Chiefs and Panthers). Im not making that mistake here

Head says Florida heart says Toronto in seven. I would have picked six but the Leafs never make it easy on themselves. This team is different this year and that includes beating the odds.
Florida is just the better team, as a Leaf supporter, if the Leafs can force a 6 to 7 game series I think it would be pretty acceptable

Well put together my friend. I agree with a lot of what you have said here. Either team is quite capable of moving on to the semi’s. Being a Leaf fan I will state that Florida is the stronger, more confident, cohesive team, but I’d just love to see the buds advance on this one and boost their playoff depth. I think we well deserve a cup after 58 years! That said, The best to both teams and let’s see how all this shakes out. She’ll be a dandy!

I am not sure the Leafs will win, but I can confidently say that they will surprise everyone and rise up to the challenge , The Leafs always play up to strong opponents..and play down to lesser ones..as we all saw.
i think if the cats played the sens rnd 1 they would've been eliminated cos the bolts were doomed either way if they played leafs or the cats in rnd1.
