The Central Division Finals kicked off with an electrifying Game 1 between the Fort Wayne Komets and the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center. In a high-scoring affair, the Walleye edged out the Komets 5-4 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Matt Anderson added a late goal for Toledo at 19:44, assisted by Bliss and Hawkins
