Game 1 Recap: Fort Wayne Komets vs. Toledo Walleye – 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs



The Central Division Finals kicked off with an electrifying Game 1 between the Fort Wayne Komets and the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center. In a high-scoring affair, the Walleye edged out the Komets 5-4 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

First Period:

Blake Murray opened the scoring for Fort Wayne at 8:30, assisted by Alex Aleardi and Noah Ganske.

Toledo responded with goals from Colby Ambrosio (12:12) and Colin Swoyer (12:53).

Aleardi tied the game for the Komets at 14:20.

Second Period:

Ethan Keppen gave Fort Wayne a 3-2 lead at 6:31.

Tyler Spezia (10:55) and Trenton Bliss (17:46) scored for Toledo, with Bliss’s goal assisted by Brandon Hawkins and Dylan Moulton.

Aleardi netted his second of the night at 13:13, assisted by Tyler Inamoto.

Matt Anderson added a late goal for Toledo at 19:44, assisted by Bliss and Hawkins
