  1. ive notice dmen scoring too. ive been watching leafs games since 2007. they've been my favorite team since i saw them live in sept. 19 2007. thats the first ever Canadian team i've seen play live. when the leafs came to play in Winnipeg for a preseason game. we didnt have a jets team back then. leafs vs. coyotes.

  2. I know leaf fans say this every year, but this team really does feel different. As much as I liked Sheldon Keefe as a person, Berube has done a great job with this team

  3. I put $10 on Benoit to get the OT winner after someone mentioned it on the live stream. Paid $960 on FanDuel

  4. Quebecers like Simon Benoit made the ultimate sacrifice for Canadian unity by playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs and by doing so forcing the announcers to pronounce French Canadians names almost correctly for a large audience ! Some of them even became fan favorites. He’s joining a pretty long list of linguistic heroes (since 1990):

Stephane Robidas, Frederick Gauthier, Antoine Bibeau, Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau, Jonathan Bernier, Phillippe Dupuis, Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Francois Beauchemin, Simon Gamache, Yanic Perreault, Jean-Sebastien Aubin, Yannick Tremblay, Marcel Cousineau, Felix Potvin, Sylvain Cote, Benoit Hogue, Sylvain Lefebvre, Guy Larose, Daniel Marois, Lucien Deblois, Claude Loiselle, Michel Petit, Gilles Thibaudeau and Vincent Damphousse.

  5. As soon as Benoit joined the Leafs he reminded me of one of my faves from the Gilmour/Clark era–another #2 Sylvain Lefebvre–same style. same attitude. They were never the same after he was included in the Clark for Sundin deal. Eventually won a cup with Colorado. The boys here won't remember Lefebvre but he was a beauty.

  6. Benoit, the 6th d-man on the Leafs roster, has become "Mr. Clutch" in the past 2 games! GO LEAFS GO !!!!
