  1. Or, putting kids into a toilet bowl. Swayman is fine, missing a nice-talented-centre Frenchman to cover how bad obnoxious Boston is, is, another matter. But, gives the Atlantic division more Cups & chances at chips.

  2. This Boston team is spent. So many years of playoffs have decimated this team. They need to take 2-3 years to regroup and then make another push. If they keep sending the playoffs without hope, they will snowball into a long rebuild quickly.

  3. One thing I hope to see is a trade of Korpisalo. Even if its for futures, just get that 3mil off the books and let Bussi or DiPietro come and be the backup. Korpisalo has voice his dismay with his playing time already so I would rather have that cap space than a grouchy backup putting up sub .900 numbers. I do think the lack of Lindholm and McAvoy is also understated. Top 2 D out for half the season plus is not gonna bode well for the penalty kill, GAA, and SV% for the goalies. I'm slightly optimistic for the next year maybe two. If they can find a way to get a solid offensive point producing winger, bring in Poitras as a third line center I think they could at least be competitive. Don't see them winning the cup anytime soon with this team but competitive.

  4. don sweeney can talk all he wants about his record as GM, but most of the credit really goes to luck and the people in his position before him- he coasted off a once in-a-generation core that was assembled before he got where he was, and to be honest, he didn't really do enough with it. Missing playoffs a couple times and then a PLETHORA of first round exits with Chara, Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci and Rask? Like come on

  5. I'm sure every NHL fan will be fine with Boston or Pittsburgh getting a shot at McKenna next year, no problem there, we'll be happy for any of them if they get him….

  6. I hope Boston doesn't develop Nashville Syndrome, perpetually chasing the playoffs with minimal draft stock and massive spending every few years in FA or at the deadline.

  7. Marchand is the reason why the Bruins got screwed, he didn’t get along with montegomery and know look at Montgomery has a chance to knock out the jets, the Bruins should’ve kept him as a coach but he didn’t want to stay there because of the headache of coaching Marchand, sometimes it’s better to get rid of the player than the coach.

  8. If anything should reinforce the idea that the history of a team means nothing to what a team will do in subsequent seasons, the change in fortunes of the Bruins should make it abundantly clear. Obviously no one who played for the Bruins in 2023-24 was still on the 2024-25 team or the record would have been similar or at least close. Analysts should quit pointing at past seasons from five years ago or more to try and suggest how a team will do in a current season. It obviously means NOTHING.

  9. There is no bounce back with this roster construction. Giving me shades of Doug Wilson saying SJ should be fighting for a playoff spot in march when they had missed the previous two seasons. Tone deaf and fire able

  10. It should be pointed out that Elias Lindholm had a back injury to start the season and he missed most of training camp. Back injuries really limit any players production. If he's healthy, he'll get over 50 points.

  11. I have a feeling sweeney is gonna sign players out of desperation and hamstring boston for the next 5yrs

  12. Am I crazy for thinking that, since the trade deadline, Will Zellers and Fraser Minten have become Boston's top prospects?
At least on par with Poitras & Lysell?

  13. As a lifelong bruins fan, this season was tough, but in sports it's incredibly difficult to be good every year and for as long as the bruins have been – nobody complained when Sweeney kept selling off 'futures' in order to keep making pushes for the cup, but now everyone wants his head – with Minton, Zellers, Poitras and Lysell, we've got some decent young players who can only get better – it may take more than 1 year to be in the cup conversations again, but it won't be more than 2 and a lot of the teams experiencing success right now will fade cuz everything is cyclical in sports so it's inevitable that the bruins will be back; the question is will they be good enough to win the cup cuz since 2011, they've missed 2 opportunities

  14. Boston sold so many p,ayers that even if they would be getting 1st pick ,that pick won't help them until 2-4 years after.
Also I think Boston will have hard season next year. ,it'll be like New York retool at best, at worst it'll look like,e Anaheim's retool. In my opinion,.

  15. I think Minton, Zellers, and Khusnutdenov are pretty big omissions from "the future." I get being bearish on next year (ha) but it's weird to talk about their deadline subtractions without factoring in what they got back in a seller's market.

The goaltending was bad, no doubt, but this team simply did not play their system well, even before the injuries to the D. I'm not sure any goalie would have looked good with the kinds of chances they were giving up. A lot riding on that coaching hire.

  16. They didn't just miss the playoffs. They lit up almost every significant statistical category from the bottom. And they have one of the worst (farm) systems in the NHL. Now examine their draft history and their ability to sign their past top-10 picks. Now look at several guys paid in the top-5 for their position and check their stats…one guy has been diminishing 3 years in a row! So, it's more than just a bad season, slow start, bad camp, etc. There are many bad signals and they are all amongst the league's worst…all at once! There are not enough flowery rhetorics to paint a decent picture for the near future. And delaying a proper rebuild makes it worse. 🤔🤨

  17. It would be tough to rebuild now with all the long term contracts they have but they definitely need more star power up front

  18. I don’t see them being Atlantic contenders next year, but 2026-2027 there top prospect this year will be playing, plus they have all kinds of money got guys like minten zellers, poitras lysell, khuz plus they have draft capital finally lol

  19. Also think lindholm can be a 60 point guy, and can see Casey as a 45-55 point guy, gotta give these guys some time, lindholm since the 4nstions was good for Boston I like zaddy on the back end for his money with the way the caps going up it’s all good.

  20. Pasternaks goals and assists and general play this season was phenomenal. Just look at his line, who was on it that is a legitimate top line talent? Add to that the poor power play and it underlines how great a season he has had.

  21. Zadorov did get better after the 4 nations but he was often on the ice when Pasternak was doing his magic with the puck due to being moved up the line up so that explains some of that change in plus minus, Lohrei is a worry though. His D is poor more than it is good.
