Can’t keep leads. Can’t clear a puck. Quinton Byfield incompetent at clearing a puck. Gavrikov terrible. Terrible strategy in the third period. Lost four consecutive games. Opportunities to sweep Edmonton but botched games 3 and 4. Jim Hiller terrible and stupid. No killer instinct by Los Angeles. Extreme collapse after game 2. This is not a group of winners, gamers or champions. Roster not good enough.

This is amateur night at the Apollo.
The growth of Spence, Clarke, Laferriere, and Turcotte was a huge part of why the team got better this year. That was a much bigger deal than swapping Foegele for Arvidsson (which granted, was a win and I loved it), even a bigger deal than having a Vezina calibre goalie. I don't think Hiller knowz that.
Oiler fan here. LA was deeper this year. A real threat to take the series. Strange challenge by your coach in game 3 and not using four lines was a bit of a head scratcher. Oil had experience on their side though. Phenominal series by both teams. Cheers.

6:04 I never thought this day would come, but this team will lose the right to have me as a fan if they continue to employ failures like this man as well as Rob Blake, Marc Bergevin, and Luke Robitaille. Unless all of them are fired, i'm not gonna be a fan of this team anymore, even if it means boycotting the NHL until i have a team in Portland to replace this useless boys club. Unlike past seasons where it was even or the Oilers were clearly superior, this team was undeniably the better team, and still managed to lose because no one on this team's staff can do anything besides fall hideously below expectations to the point where it's like we're hiring former Sharks. But of course, nothing's gonna change because the people in charge are just gonna try to cover it up with "We JuSt NeEd To NoT pLaY tHe OiLeRs" or some other BS. This is why i want to play a different team, so if we lose again, that excuse will dry up like a rasin in death valley.
Oilers fan here ,great series . But the excuses that one call changed the series is a little on the delusional side. From third period in game one to last second of game 6 the Oilers were better in every metric of the game. Kings are great team but the Oilers are also a great team and some Kings fans and the Kings coach gave them zero respect! Even this coach Hillers he just said that the Oilers outplayed them in ''One game only and over time'' That is a delusional coach!! Honestly if Pickard was in net from game one ,this could have ended in game 5.
Oilers fan coming in peace. I feel bad as I legit like a lot of the players on the Kings team. Truth is though the team is getting old in some areas. Might be time to rebuild similar to the Sharks or Blackhawks. The cup years are behind this team and the remaining older guys from those cup years are kind of holding back the potential for a rebuild for the young guys.
Doughty and Kopitar need to either re-sign for cheap when their contracts expire in 2026 and 2027 or or possibly just go sign with another team that needs them for a playoff run.
That way the talented youth of this team like Kempe Byfield etc can work on a rebuild. Whether it was facing the Oilers again in round 1 or not, I don't think this current lineup is that good. They have great defens don't get me wrong and Kuemper is an awesome goalie, bit it's time for a rebuild. I wish you guys all the best and again I like this team and players!! 😊
Kings have such a good team. No need to nuke the roster. Just replace hiller and bring in a smarter, more positive tactician to utilize the amazing squad you have. From an oilers fan ❤
This is the most disappointing of the 4 series losses because the Kings could have and should have won this series. When the Kings were putting pressure on the oilers they were dominating the games. Hiller and the Kings should have kept that going for a full 60 minutes in each game. I question the conditioning of the Kings coming into this series. Even in the 2 games they won they looked gassed in the third period. That is where the Kings lost the games. The last two weeks of the season the oilers were resting their players and Kings kept playing theirs. The challenge by Hiller did not beat the Kings. It was ruled a no goal on the ice and there was evidence that Kane's stick made no contact with the puck after he kicked it. I did not mind the challenge, I believe that is what Hiller was challenging. Toronto made a bad call. The Kings beat the Kings. One thing I have not liked about this team over the last 3 seasons is whenever a call goes against them, they crumble and cannot over come it. So what if the league wanted the oilers to win the series, overcome the bad calls that went against you and the no calls by the refs. This team still has a lot of maturing to do. This team is weak. The direction of this team is not working and needs to be changed. Many of these players need to be gone next season. I want to see if the ownership has the balls to make the hard decisions this off season.
