Western Conference WIDE OPEN After Crazy Night! | NHL Playoff Recap April 27, 2025

The Stanley Cup Playoffs just got even crazier — especially in the Western Conference!

First, we head East where the Carolina Hurricanes took a 3-1 series lead after beating the New Jersey Devils 5-2. Andrei Svechnikov led the way with a hat trick, although there was a scare as Frederik Andersen left with an upper-body injury.

Then, the Washington Capitals also grabbed a 3-1 series lead over the Montreal Canadiens with a 5-2 win. A huge momentum shift happened after Tom Wilson delivered a clean hit on Alexandre Carrier that turned the game around.

Now over to the West — where every single series is tied 2-2!
The St. Louis Blues crushed the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 behind Jake Neighbours’ first playoff goal (plus two assists) and Jordan Binnington’s 30-save performance.

Finally, the game everyone was waiting for — the Edmonton Oilers staged a huge comeback, beating the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in overtime. Down 3-1 in the second, Edmonton battled back, tied it late, and Leon Draisaitl sealed it with the OT winner!
