I realize I'm in the minority here but I think it was a clean hit. Ever since the NHL put out that video explaining why the Whitecloud hit on Knies was legal, it's the measuring stick I've been using for head contact, and to me, that Whitecloud hit was worse than this one by Ekblad. Ekblad uses his forearm, not a flying elbow, for the hit, and drives through Hagel's body. I don't like it but it's legal based on what I've seen. Of course, Gary can change the rules at any time, so whatever. Also, I'm not 100% certain the forearm to the jaw is what made Hagel wobbly. He hit the back of his head on the ice and that can ring your bell just as bad if not worse. And before people jump on me for being a homer, I'm not a fan of either team. I just want to see a good series.
I'd guess real world 1-2 games, especially as he's just coming back from a suspension (even though it's unrelated). Florida fans defending this are in a Florida bubble where this is kinda normal, but this sort of retribution shouldn't be tolerated by the league, and generally isn't in other markets.

There are also tons of hits that are more the arm going through than the body, part of his forearm definitely makes contact with the chin, but it isn't even primarily to the head. Hagel was frustrated and hammered Barkov one of the cleanest players in the Game for absolutely no reason. When you do that kinda crap you must expect the other side will take their shot on you when given the chance. Great Job by Ekblad getting justice for the dirty Barkov hit. No Suspension. Zero Games.
