Sorry john but the core 4 suck in closing out games in the playoffs and something needs to be done

As a newer hockey guy this is honestly insane to see happen for the last 2/3 years I’ve been watching
Mathews did own it. You must have missed the post game media scrum. Mathews is playing really good defence but his offence has been absent. He keeps hitting posts or missing the net completely. The team did not skating N-S. No digging and very few puck battles won on the boards. A complete 180 from games 1,2 & 3. All through this series they have had trouble exiting their zone and are intercepted inside the blue line when trying to clear their zone. I believe they will still win this series, but if your 4th line is the best in a game you usually lose. If they don't wake up Florida will eat their lunch.

Someone needs to tell the Leafs that you will NEVER win a series just on paper. You have to go out there and leave it all on the ice. Ottawa since getting blown out game 1 has been busting their asses trying to win games! The Sens are beating them on effort alone. The Leafs are out there pouting and whining year in and year out when things don’t go their way in playoff games!

Saying Leafs 6 is cool, but no one expected the Leafs to be up 3-0 and let it slip away.
This series isn't a typical 3-2 series.

Interesting comparison between the Sens and Leafs.
The Sens don't have a "Core 4" but they did have a lot of young players all drafted around the same time and played together for the US. Tkachuk and Norris were best friends but the Sens traded Norris because they wanted more – Brady was upset but it served as a wake up call to the locker room that this isn't a best buds club. The following game after the trade, Brady scored the game winner.
The Leafs Core 4 have been given chance after chance after chance to win, and they fail. Yet they are kept together. That sets a different team mentality.
Well the biggest problem is matthews, marner and nylander are only motivated by money. They aren't really going to gainn much from winning cups. They are on a team that will pay them like they do so why even try. Those 3 care more about the pregame shot of them in fancy outfits, than they do winning cups.
I wasn't tricked. I've been a Leafs fan since the mid to late 1970s, but I knew after Game 4 that the series would reach seven games. I was yelled at by some other Leafs fans after game 4 (in YouTube), but this isn't the first time. Leafs don't do things easy and lack the killer instinct. If it walks like a duck, then it is a duck. If anything quacks like a duck, it is a duck. That's the Maple Leafs. Leafs do what they do. Choke!!

I feel for you, man. Carolina closes the series out after being down 3 in the game, and the Leafs can't even score a goal. Hats off to Ottawa for sure, but come on, Leafs.
The leafs core four are the biggest choking losers in hockey they aren't built for the playoffs it seems leafs management thinks that you can buy a cup and just dumped money on the most overrated core four in nhl history.
For me it’s “enough with the one hand on the fkn stick” and. “Get to the front of the fkn net”…if they do these 2 we know theyre serious about winning…they didnt do this in game 5

Who besides the Leafs can't score on a 4 minute powerplay to win a series.Knieves seems to be the only player that could fit in with a Roberts,Tucker,Sundin leaf team.
Mathews is not a leader.he is a cherry picker.This core 4 do not have the Balls when it comes to Play-offs.
