I know pressure can do a lot, but if anything I’d expect that they would be trying too hard and make mistakes. How TF do they show no effort / skating in this game!? It hasn’t been a physical series and somehow they’re exhausted??

i really dont care about the regular season, or its stats… take willy off the power play. hes not mentally tough in those moments and doesnt play with grit either. hes a smooth and silent killer. a pretty goal scorer. we knows hes amzing off the rush and hes got 13 pp goals in the RS. but in the playoffs its not about pretty. you need to simplify the set up and put pucks on net and let the big guys like JT and Knies do their thing in the slot. i wanna remind everyone how good our pp was without toners and Mcmann was on with JT and Kniesy. these are guy who will shoot dirty and be aggressive in the slot and make a smart play and score a rebound. we dont need fancy, pretty, or calculated goals. we have that skillset naturally … we need to put the effing puck on net. the majority of the team has bought into the grittyness it takes to win playoff hockey, but im sorry william nylander does not have what it takes to play like that in these high pressure situations. as weve seen thus far, the majority of the core 4 are clutch goal scorers and pretty goal scorers, while guys like Knies and JT fight the 50/50 puck battles which lead into great offensive opportunities because of how physical they play. another thing we need to do is coach our third and fourth lines better. Mcmann, Domi, Jancrook and Lorentz need more love and motivation and they need to be told they are good enough to help us close games in these high pressure situations. they are bringing more grit and physicality yet no offensive finishes. whatever man i know that this year we are way better and overall we are buying into this new identity and system that coaching is creating, but its so hard to ignore the fact that the core 4 havent accomplished anything in 9 years. THEY are the ones who make up the PP. THEY are the ones the team needs to rely on in these moments… i mean if you cant get a PP going then what are we doing ? i just hope we win this series so were not embarrassed and some how come back even stronger for florida which will be even harder but who even has patience to go there right now
I had the Sens taking them in 5 in my bracket, I thought that was appropriately embarassing. I guess I didn't swing hard enough. A reverse sweep would be the perfect shit show to get Shanahan fired. Marner will enjoy the rest of his career in the real NHL where he might see a reporter once a fortnight.

Sometimes I feel bad that no Canadian team has won the Cup in a long while, given how much the sport means to Canadians. Then I see how entitled fans of the Leafs, Oilers, Canadians feel to a Stanley Cup victory just based on their level of obsession with their team. And I stop feeling bad.

My son has forever been a Blues fan (no idea why that happened but, even back then, I had to respect it.) Because of that, I’ve watch A LOT of Blues hockey, including their 2019 last place to cup champs under Berube. When Toronto picked him up I actually thought, “wow. This could be a thing!” After watching Toronto closely under Berube, both my son and I agree that Berube isn’t in full control and THAT is why the Leafs will be done. With Berube, he doesn’t give a s…t who you are or how much you get paid. You’re not buying in: you’re sat or sometimes even scratched. Messages are sent, loud and clear. In Toronto, you can tell someone is keeping him from doing what is needed. His hands are clearly tied. Some of Willy’s play???? No WAY he’d have been dressed in the last two games. Berube can’t coach under Toronto management who clearly have their hands in the pie. That, and that reason alone is why the Leafs continue to flounder. Too bad for Leaf fans because you have all the pieces. It’s only some of those pieces need adjustment and tuning in. Your management are the stick in the spokes and it makes sense. They’re the only thing that hasn’t changed. If Leafs make it through round 1, they’re done in round 2. I have no doubt.
Matthews hasn't carried this team on his shoulders when it's mattered most like Brady has with his own team. This is coming from a huge Matthews fan and supporter, but I can't support this lack luster effort. Broke your stick…. cool…. go out there and do something that does something

I loved watching your live commentary on Leafs playoff games the years the Sens didn’t make it. I was extremely pulling for them all those times they faced Boston in the first round. I really did have hope as I know anything can happen in the playoffs. I almost called game 5 saying the Sens would win 5-0. So close. I still can’t believe it’s gone this way either. Great video. ❤
