With the New York Rangers having fired their head coach, Peter Laviolette, they are obviously in need of hiring a new one. Now that Mike Sullivan and the Pittsburgh Penguins have officially parted ways, all reports are pointing to the Rangers hiring him as their next head coach.

This team is definitely a cup contender. You can’t judge the by the chaos under laviolette and his decision to dump important players like goodrow and in controversial fashion as well as the disgraceful treatment of team captain trouba. They won a presidents trophy despite laviolette, not because of him. If they can replace those players and get back to playing as a team they can absolutely win a cup. Not many teams have the talent that the Rangers have, it is a confidence issue that derailed them, but it was necessary to happen to get laviolette fires

This team has to choose between good team chemistry look at the isles and defensive line chemistry and same thing with the devils offense they have a great team chemistry the names of the guys who are on the team just flows from top to bottom!! Now since devils got Doug H and Doumoulin bc they lost Hughes get your self Doumoulin he’s very good ! Guys that most scouts don’t even see are there !! Rangers just can’t see it! Just pick up guys who don’t amass to much talent !! Who is Will Borgen??? He stinks !
This team this year was so bad that I was just like omg this is so bad after they came from that bruins loss and won it back after losing was ok they were able to win some games but just couldn’t keep up bc all the trades they made like someone said wasn’t even worth changing bc it was so embarrassing to watch them!! Hopefully next season will be better!! W new guys and new players coming in!
Unless he is being Sidney with him, this club still will lack leadership and big goals. Besides, why should Drury look around, do diligent study, why do work at all actually . Considering most of his deals are pushes anyway, might as well just write the check and book tee time.
In the NHL it's always recycling coaches. I'm OK with Sullivan, but Nelson & Halpern could bring a fresh new approach. I even read that Torts could be Sullivan's assistant coach. LOL! Shipping out Kreider would be a mistake because he's a team leader & played injured last year. The talent is there. The team needs a better system which emphasizes the forecheck & team defense that eliminates high scoring chances. Get a couple of good D in free agency & trade K'iller + for a good return.
