My first time seeing these 2 amazing teams go head to head. I see why this game was being recommended what an incredible spectacle!

No ''Hand passes'' are allowed in the offensive zone. Also, you cannot ''Grab'' nor ''hold'' the puck even if you set it for yourself.
These 2 teams go to war every year in the 1st round. So many twists and turns it's really top notch hockey at it's best š
just generally about McJesus, there was a famous supreme court ruling in the united states that said "I can't define pornography, but I know it when I see it"
Generational talents like McDavid, Ovechkin, Crosby, Lemieux, Gretzky, etc, you know it when you see it. They are magical with the puck
When in trouble near their own net, players used to pass the puck using their hands to stop the play, take a breather. They changed the rule. Hand passing in your defensive zone is allowed, play does not stop. Shooting the puck in the crowd, under pressure would be used also to stop the play, but now penalties are given.
Glad you watched this, hopefully you enjoyed the game.
The oilers defence and goaltender let them down early on (defenceman gave the puck away to cause 2 goals against)
The kings style is mostly a defend then counter attack (hence why they often get odd man rushes).
While the oilers is basically, lets put all our money into offence and have weak defence (but has improved over the last 2 years) and pray we can outscore our opposition.
That last goal was flukey imo (but maybe im bias) cause they whiffed (barely came into contact of the puck) the shot which caused a knuckle floater (unpredictable), with foegele (was a oiler last season) screening (blocking the view) the goaltender. People blame Skinner (oilers tender) on that last goal, but there was nothing he could do.
The Kings are said to have the best team since 2014 (when they won their last cup), while the oilers have lost some speed/youth this season.
Also the oilers best defencemen (Ekholm) is out this entire series, he is the guy that will shut down plays while his D partner (Bouchard, also guy that gave the 2 goals) will basically be the 4th forward (more offence)
oh buddy you have to watch the game 3 and 4 highlights, fucking INSANE
If you watch any of the Oilers home games I would recommend the SportsNet highlights simply for the broadcasting duo (SportsNet is the provider for Oilers games). Iām definitely biased but one of, if not, the best commentators in the league.
Appreciate your ongoing hockey love, playoffs have been great this year.
too bad the cup is happening right now because there is another amazing bunch of hockey happening at the same time.
2025 IIHF U18 MEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
channel "Ice Hockey Highlights" has this same type of game highlight breakdowns.
These KIDS are amazing players and U18 so the next back of kids looking to make it into the NHL and you can see the skill level is there.
Check out Games 3 and 4! They were great!
you gotta watch game 4 of this series lol
For what it's worth, those highlight packs never show the shenanigans. They only show goals and saves. The league doesn't like anything that focuses on violence. The broadcasts certainly don't shy away from it; in fact, they comment on fights as if they were a boxing match, as you have seen by now.
About the Oilers: they have weak defence and goaltending. Their best defenceman (arguably) is injured. They make up for it by trying to score more goals than the other teams, and with McJesus and Draisaitl, it often works up to a point; however, it hasn't yet taken them to the "promised land".
