Brandon Beane Comes In Hot (Plus, Plan For Fixing The Sabres)

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Chris Ostrander (Two in the Box) to discuss Buffalo Bills general manager coming in hot on a WGR 550 appearance Monday morning in addition to what Chris’ offseason plan is to finally fix the Buffalo Sabres this offseason.

Beane made a radio appearance with Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase Monday morning and was outwardly annoyed at their “bitching’ over the wide receiver position, touting the success of the offense last year despite media and fans complaining about the loss of Stefon Diggs. The guys have plenty of reaction to Beane’s fiery comments.

The Sabres continued to do what they’ve excelled at for the past 14 years now—miss the playoffs. They didn’t come close either this time around as their 79 points was third from the bottom in the Eastern Conference and 12 points behind the last wild card team, Montreal. It really feels like a blown opportunity given that 92 points could’ve gotten them to the playoffs and everyone, for the most part rightfully so points to the 13-game winless streak early in the season that quickly did them in. As a result the Sabres pulled back into a tie with the New York Jets for the longest playoff drought of any team of the four major professional sports.

So how does this never ending drought finally end? Patrick tasks Chris with coming up with a plan. What trades can be made, what free agent(s) can be convinced to come to Buffalo, what changes need to be made to the roster internally as well as the coaching staff? Does Kevyn Adams keep his GM job? Should he keep his job? Chris does his best to shed light on everything necessary to turn this mess around.

Also, Chris has plenty reactions on the Bills draft and the offseason as a whole now that it’s mostly complete.  That plus a Sylvester Stallone vs Arnold Schwarzenegger who was a better 80’s movie star debate and much more.

Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it’s a great place to drink and have a great time.

  1. lol. brandon beane came in a just a little TOO hot, but I loved it just the same. Jeremy and Joe are nails on a chalkboard to me and it was hilarious to see them squirm

  2. Love Beane even more now.

So sick of these dudes that never did squat in the NFL… talking like they can do his job better than him.

This isn’t Madden… it’s not fantasy football… it’s real life and Beane has proven that he knows what he’s doing. People can talk trash about Elam but for every Kier Elam there’s a Clyde Edwards-Helaire… every GM misses sometimes.

Brandon knows that for all the super human things that Allen can do, that the one thing he struggles with is performing in close games. It’s not just a few instances at this point, it’s a pattern. Close games, end of the fourth quarter, overtime… he doesn’t get it done.

It doesn’t matter if he has multiple All Pro receivers ( Diggs, Beasley) the best O-Line, a top RB, Daboll, Dorsey, Brady… it’s always the same outcome.

What do you do about that? Build a defense that doesn’t allow the game to be close.

  3. Kincaid suck this should have let Dallas get him they looking for Josh Allen to do too much and not getting him know elite receivers once again Brandon Bean wasting all my boy good years

  4. Brandon beane don't be looking at none of that he's going to beat my man right in the ground and I'm not going to even get a super bowl that she is going to be f*** up

  5. I don't care about the future if we get won super bowl I know it's Josh Allen will be in the Hall of Fame that's what it's about holding up that Lombardi trophy

  6. Sabres talk 🤮 🤮 🤮

Do a COMPLETELY SEPARATE PODCAST for that crap.

I’m gonna unsubscribe and stop listening if I hear any more Sabres talk.

  7. If we would've got Grant, Harman Or Williams We wouldn't have Picked Walker In the fourth round. I believe we would have picked a wide receiver in the fourth round . There wasn't much left in the fifth round.

  8. Its kind of shocking how far Kinkead's stock has plummeted. He had a great rookie campaign then started his second year on fire being the hilight guy in camp. Everyone thought a great year was coming. Then injuries played a big part in his season. The cherry on top was the incompletion that ended the playoff game. I hope he shuts everybody up in year three. Samuel too

  9. BBB BIG BABY BEANE so unprofessional everyone has an opinion if u dont agree with it you shouldnt have a melt down on air and bring negative national media coverage on the Bills……………………..just say i dont agree and move on………………..interesting part is after telling the radio hosts they dont need a wide receiver they are all set especially after leading the NFL in scoring scoring 30 points in 8 straight games etc etc etc 2 HOURS LATER the Bills are hosting free agent wide receiver Elijah Moore……………..so which is it ?

  10. wish i had seen Beane be this angry for a change with some of the players on DEFENSE who dont show up………………everyone says the Bills need a better defense but that has been said for what the last 5 years…………..if defense is the problem then start calling out some of the players that are causing the problem………………..if Oliver is not consistent and only impacts 4 out of the 17 games then get on him…………….if other guys are consistently missing tackles or getting dumb penalties then show that type of anger and get on them…………..after all the draft picks free agent money spent and contract extensions used on defense the last few years doesnt pan out this season Beane has no more excuses and hopefully Bills fans finally call him out

  11. I think one thing that Beane has done with flying colors is know what talent he has in house. That’s what gives me hope that Kincaid and Coleman are gonna take steps. Beane has been really good at extending those that are good/great and good at letting those that are done go. Lots to prove for Kincaid and Coleman tho we have to hope Beane once again viewed the in house talent correctly!
