QUESTION OF THE DAY — Do YOU Want To See Mike Sullivan Become The Next Head Coach of the Blackhawks? If Not, Then Who?
Sullivan to NY or Boston, he doesn’t seem to be interested in a rebuild. The Hawks are going to have to find someone with something to prove, not someone who can cherry pick any job they want.
I don't think the Hawks have the talent to attract top tier free agent players or coaching candidates. They're going to need to be at least a possible playoff team before they'll draw interest from high end talent.
I'd think after Boston, NY is more of a favourite than the Hawks. The position they're in now is extremely similar to what the Pens were when he joined there. Plus Boston and NY are also original 6 with rich histories, like the Hawks. I'd love him as our coach, but I think it's unlikely given his credentials. He gets the pick of the bunch, and I can't see him wanting to go through the rebuild process when he can jump into instant Cup contender NY or needing a little tweeking in his hometown Boston.
