When Igor Shesterkin signed his historic goalie contract, there were a lot of fans who weren’t too happy with him getting that big deal. Now with seeing how a goalie like Connor Hellebuyck has continued to play in the playoffs, it goes to show that having a guy who plays his best hockey when it matters most is what you need on your team.

Totally Agree!!! Shesty is THE best in the league( playing behind & D & forward group which is terrible defensively)- give him a good D & a SYSTEM which doesn't give up high danger zone chances & he'll be other worldly. His contract is just fine, despite what the naysayers think.

You know how I feel about Shesterkin as I comment on most of your videos. Igor, like MANY great Ranger goaltenders of the past, will NOT win a cup with this team !! I hate that this is the case, but it IS true. The Rangers have an affinity for picking and developing great net dwellers, but defense and nastiness is not an ingredient found in Blueshirt Baking. Igor faces over 36 shots a game, most requiring some form of acrobatics. Henrik experienced the same. Go back 55-60 years, and you'll see the same issue plaguing the team: Great netminder getting little support.
I love Igor and his game, but he will get worn out very soon if he remains a Ranger. I won't like it, but Shesterkin should be traded for assets and picks. This team needs TOO MUCH to win a cup. Development of youth is paltry at best. Scouting is questionable. I can't blame Drury for everything, but he definitely has affected the team's ethos and culture. Sad.

As for the 11 Million Dollar Man – had many great saves, but finished with a losing record and often got hit for 5 goals. I think a good deal of that was due to a weak defense and soft forwards who didn't backcheck. Without an end to the soft play and addition of size/hitting on the D, what would really change?
The Rangers just have no balls to hire Joel Quenneville. He's the right man for the job . Sullivan and the penguins haven't won a playoff series in seven years! and only one since their last cup. That's not a winning pedigree that I want coaching the Rangers. But he'll probably get the job because Drury is clueless. Drury save your career and hire Quenneville now!!!
