Why do the Canucks want him? He sucks
EP and Zegras on the same team would be hilarious. They both don’t weight 275lbs combined and would spend far more time on Davis street visiting glory holes than they would practicing and training. If they bring in Zegras, Quinn Hughes is demanding a trade that day he already knows Zegras act and he’s not dealing with that day to day.
If Ducks really want to make the deal, it may be Zegras & 2025 3rd round pick (Tor) for Chytil, Klimovich and 2027 4th round pick (Chi)
Ducks aren't trading their most dynamic playmaker, end of story
If he can be had for cheap, why not roll the dice.
I like Zegras I would also go after Jared Mccann. We wouldnt be paying premier prices for guys who are the right age and can fill spots
zegras is a pos, highly, highly overrated, declining every year statisically AND a headache.
Did I miss something?
Rutherford said he wanted guys who want to be there. He offered Tocchet double the pay to come back and the guy is thinking about it. He clearly doesn't want to be there. So start thinking about the team with a coach that can handle the young players from Abby and the offence coming back with a new coaching style. Tocchet wants to coach JT Miller and the Rangers. They are 1 season off the President's trophy with a solid team that will make him look like a great coach just by taking that job at the right time and getting them in the playoffs again.
Why would you want the coach back if he hasn't committed already?
If my employer wanted to double my wage and I liked the job, I would continue to do the job I have been doing without needing to think about it.
He obviously isn't all in. And I don't blame him with the amount of uncertainty in Vancouver. We all know of Tocchets gambling history and criminal record. He is going to play his best bet to win big and soon. That's not in Vancouver.
All that being said, yes, I thought about Zegras as a reasonable priced fit for the Canucks with the right coach. With Letermaki and Petterson that's gonna give Petterson options to playmake with and guys that can skate and shoot. Malhotra for coach. He is in Aqualini's budget for a coach for a young team to build with. All Aqualini cares about is a sold out building and making the playoffs. Much like Harold Ballard was. Increased prices and sellouts. Playoff revenue. And don't spend those profits on a practice facility because his land purchases are for making money and not putting back into the team.
So, lots of side topics to think about there. Lol.
Sell as many Hughes jerseys while you can and convince him to stay longer by acquiring USHL players. There are plenty of coaches willing to step into that position. Gerard Gallant is actively seeking employment if you don't trust Malhotra yet.
this is a huge trade> they're gona trade for zegras
Wouldn't Vancouver want guys who play a complete game and play the right way? I don't understand why Vancouver would ever want Zegras.
Zegras is a flash in the pan, NO NO NO
GM please no Zegras. Only Powers, McLeod or Dobson or Krebs. Do not make a same mistake that will kill Canucks future. We need size and hard shot D.We need first line centre move Petey on line two.
So this comment section can be summed up in one sentence.
Im not watching hockey but i still have an opinion about Zegras.
For a five-million dollar player, I would much prefer the Canucks target someone like a Kent Johnson. I know there is no way the team can get him pried from the Blue Jackets, but the guy has creativity that I think is better than that of Zegras. He's only 22 and is a Port Moody kid. Yeah, no way the Canucks would be able to get him, but he would be the type of creative forwards I would like to see…
But the team has to get the Toc situation sorted out first – without knowing who the coach is, you can't really assemble a team that would work for that coach.
If the price is right then why not take a chance
