Habs Need More Than Xhekaj to Turn Series Around at Home vs Capitals
Montreal Canadiens lose 3-1 to the Washington Capitals in game 2 of their round 1 series. The Canadiens need Arber Xhekaj and maybe even more for game 3 vs the Capitals.

The players need to police the game. That has always been that way especially in the playoffs. The poor referring is one of the reasons that hockey ratings go down in the playoffs
drew what is a veteran presents? those words get thrown around for a good cause veterans r supposed to lead the youngsters. show them how to play in the clutch moments ……“big” joel armia has been a player who doesn’t bring it for long stretches of games.. we should have cut him & played owen beck, savard has been bad since we got him, ( your a fool if you disagree) he wasnt good on tampa !! look it up he played 10 mins a game for them in the playoffs & we game him a contract y?? why he didn’t get cut i dont know? dont get it twisted, drew , we could trade them or devorak who finally showed up after 4 years.. i’ve never said rebuild in my life.. i believe in retool , thats what true habs fans call it… if its a rebuild y r we talking about marty wanting to win? it would be a no brainer , let the youngsters get playoff experience. we have guys in the lineup who r not going to be here next year!!! why play them? MSL doesn’t know what he is doing.. from the jump he named our best player as captain. here what i said best player? not captain material! we need guys who lead with some grit!!!! that includes the coach!!! y cant he coach them up by getting in there ass about there play at starts of games & periods, y cant suzuki have some grit to show he is a captain? they cant its not in them. i would kiss the tv if suzuki would stand up for himself let alone others & if marty would sit the guys not playing well !! not for a period but before the game mathison , carrier, savard, armia, laine, !!!! even susuki played bad in game two & only one guy with a podcast said anything about him… Marty won’t wanna hurt his feelings. And I heard the reason why he played bad and game two was that Marty had a talk with him because of the way he played the first shift in the overtime of game one.
It’s the same story of the too small too soft Montréal Canadiens not built for the playoffs. Skill only gets you so far. Don’t know what you’re thinking MSL but this is playoff hockey and it’s more than just learning. Canadiens have no forecheck.
Drew they had two bad periods. They have some passengers and yes 72 needs to play. Cross-checks to the face not withstanding. Play 60 minutes and they can win.
Marty St. Louis should bench Laine and activate Kapanen. Stick Demidov at center between Heineman and Kapanen and you have 3 players on one line that are all over 6 ft. and all over 195 lbs. not to mention that they are all capable of putting the puck into the net. If they happen to click, look out! This is a line that St. Louis should have put together in the first game that Demidov played in the NHL.
I don't think he's over his mental state of mind yet.. He shows emotions high and low these mentally unstable I'll hope the best for him , but as for now You have to sit him out.I hate to do it, but when you go to war, you need to. The men to go with you in the tranches , bring in the Sheriff, we have to respond.I let them know we're not getting pushed around…
You want to protect our smaller players? It’s the power play. You know what it is – get the puck to Hutson, pass to a stationary Laine, shoot, repeat. Why would the Caps worry about taking a penalty? A AAA midget team could kill it off. We have the talent to be 35+% on the powerplay WITH THE CURRENT ROSTER.
Totally agree with your stance about the refs. It's insane and you never know when they will start calling those penalties. Like the soft cross checks from Josh Andersen on Wilson. That was way soft. Ridiculous.
Laine is not 100% for sure. He needs to play second power play and a few minutes here and there. I love Laine but there is no way that he is 100%. He wouldnt skate this way.
And I've been saying this for 2 years now, Xhekaj should be playing forward. He is big, got a great shot, can be a presence in front of the net and who knows perhaps the power forward we need to destroy the CAPS defensemen right now. You cannot possibly let Hutson, Caufield and Guhle get hit the way they've been hit in the first 2 games. We need to go after their best D man too.

Habs are not too far back…they have come close to winning game 2…what I don't like is that Habs are being bumped around by bigger Capitals players…

Refs unaccountability ruin nhl. Many have stopped watching because of bad refs and pride nights

Kapanen in for Laine, on a line with Newhook & Demidov. Even give Demidov some center time, and yes, put up on PP1

Armia is not playing his best. If he was not a key member of the PK, he would be put aside for fresher legs.
