None of my wise advice had been heeded. Keefe & Kompany need to see my comments on the April 13 & April 19 videos. Too late now 🤮 Keefe has to go, & the “C” has to go from Hischier’s jersey. Nico also keeps losing critical face offs. This team is a joke. The only thing we consistently did right all year was special teams & holding late leads. Towards the end of the year, we stopped doing even those things correctly 🤮 The team is now 42 wins & 42 losses this year 🤮 Where is Scott Stevens – or at least his will? I’m tired of hearing about how great Carolina is! Let’s inflict our will on them! But the whole mindset has f this team is wrong.
Keefe is a good enough coach. The team just isn’t offensively deep and lacks the aggression component. Plus some major injuries. All things considered, they’re right about where they were expected to be. Unfortunately.
The best and most important question of this presser was the last question asked by Kristy Flannery. In playoff hockey it's always the depth players that have to rise. We haven't seen that all year from this NJD team. Depth players are the difference makers in the playoffs.
This series is far from over but we're seeing what we clearly need more of and have needed for years this off season. The entire bottom 6 needs to be re-worked, need a very strong face off guy, Haula/Palat/Bastian/Tatar could be shipped off and I wouldn't be upset. Noesen and Cotter were solid additions, more guys like that would be beneficial. Defense is fine and goaltending is fine but with some good depth, this team will have a way better chance next year.
Keefe is handcuffed by a GM who sits on his hands at the trade deadline and refuses to use LTIR to help the team. The ridiculous bottom 6 is all Fitz. As are the garbage draft picks that have amounted to nothing.
