On Wednesday’s edition of Felger & Mazz, the guys reacted to the Bruins end of season press conference. When discussing the team’s results when it comes to the NHL draft, they questioned how the team is able to improve the team’s hit rate in the draft itself.

In the last 8 Drafts the Bruins have taken 42 players and those players have combined to scored 45 NHL goals. Total.
This is not a serious franchise when it comes to scouting, drafting and developing talent.
Watch their pick last year after Utah surprised them by trading up & taking "their guy" (Cole Beaudin) – had no clue what to do – end up with the "pos PR" pick in the bum that is Letorneau
Can you name any team which has consistently made the playoffs and has drafted outside the 10 ten during their playoff run yet has consistently hit on their draft picks, allowing them to retoole on the fly?
Also, we need to stop thinking that Neely and Sweeney have absolute control over the team. Had they, the would have traded Pastrnak for 1st round draft picks because as great as Pastrnak is he can't carry a tean like Sydney Crosby could in the olayoffs during his prime. Though he tries, Pastrnak is not a gritty nasty offensive player that wears down defenses like Crosby did.
It doesn’t matter who we draft. The bruins have lost their ability to develop players.
Sounds like to me you need better scouts or even better, FIRE Sweeney. If Neely can’t get on board, fire him too. Management is absolutely killing this team. It’s not the players.

Neely didn’t have a good day. Previous management were able to find Bergeron and Krejci in the second round.
Neely was disingenuous about the 2015 draft and the timing of Sweeney being appointed GM. It wasn’t like they pulled Sweeney off the street or from another organization and he didn’t understand the Bruins draft board. This is Sweeney’s job history with the Bruin’s and is directly from the team’s website: “he (Sweeney) held positions as Director of Player Development, Director of Hockey Operations, and Assistant General Manager within the Bruins organization.” So, Sweeney had been there for nine years and as a result had knowledge about the players on their big board for the 2015 draft. It’s shameful that Neely spouted this lie and Jacobs just sat there. This whole crew has zero credibility.
The scouting staff is completely clueless. Everyone of them should be replaced!!!!!

My god you bruin fans are the most ungratefull idiots we have had almost 20 years of good teams and because of being in the mix we have went all in at every deadline. Because of this our prospects are not so great , that being said we did a lot this deadline Sweeny knocked it out of the park and helped set up for a turn around. Ive been happy with this group for a long time. Just examine other teams , this is cap hockey and the Bruins have done above average.

Be honest; this team is going nowhere under this leadership group. They need to look outside former Bruins who are not qualified, to bring in someone that knows what they are doing. The One Cup won since 1972 was when Chirrelli was the GM, and not the cheapest former player available
