What did you think of Bouchard’s clutch performance?

What did you think of Evan Bouchard’s clutch performance? Was the Oilers two-goal deficit self-inflicted? TSN Oilers reporter Ryan Rishaug joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. over paid spolied bratts if i was in there i would play for canadian pride and never mind the money like players of old that had regular jobs and played hockey for the love of the game. this oilers team thinks there in the gretsky coffee ara where they can score three or 5 goals to win a game in the 3rd period

  2. One of the last old school slappers from the point along with OV who’s reminiscent of Brett Hull. Booshy proves slaps from the point still work provided you take the goalies eyes out but you also have to be an accurate shot.

  3. Rishaug doesn’t even have faith with the oilers. May be he will jump in the wagon after the series is done.

  4. You cant pay a guy who puts his team behind like the way he does. I dont care about his late goals, as clutch as they were. He doesnt have to come up clutch if he doesnt make the mistakes, hes prone to making. If he wants anything over 7.5, move him. You cannot pay 2 dmen upwards of $20 mil unless you have one in the mix for a norris. No team can.

  5. the bi-polar Oilers fans must love him…. but 2 days earlier he was getting kicked of the team during the summer hahaha

Never thought another fanbase would be more delusional and more bi-polar than Habs fan but these Oilers simps raised the bar.

  6. Should we comment on his brutal giveaway that made McDavid shake his head. Bouche is a offensive only defenseman, horrible in his own end, gives up way to early

  7. Defensemen get the majority of passes back to them, so if you look at the opportunities he should be scoring every game, as he’s doing lately. I’ve always given he the benefit of the doubt to become a better defender in his own end of the rink, but, it’s take years to become a two way defenseman.

  8. The guy made his share of mistakes during the game but he scores the tying goal and he's 'clutch'. It must drive players crazy. Hero one day, trash the next.

  9. 2/3 of LA's shot attempts ended up as shots on net.
Before OT, Edmonton got less than 1/4 of their attempts through to the net.

If this game hadn't reached OT on a random tip, the analysis of this game, and this team, would be a real lynching.

  10. When you score 2 goals and still end up -1 you might be a Bouch. He giveiths and he takeths. The best shot since Al MacInnis however is going to get him paid regardless.

  11. He was on the fortunate side of the deflections.
Other than that, he’s not a very good defender or forward for that matter.

  12. I wonder what the powerplay would look like if Bouchard played on the left where Nuge plays so they can have mcD pass on the left to Bouchard or right to Draisaitl for a one timer, would be deadly and less predictable.. .then maybe have ekholm play at the blue line and remove nuge

  13. Not much. He's responsible for 3 LA goals so the math is pretty simple. This guy is a liability every game. He would be more successful as a forward but as a "dman" he is terrible and it never improves.

  14. Some perform better in regular season some perform better in the playoffs.. Bouchard is a playoff guy, hellybuck is a regular season goalie

  15. Bouch is amazing you just can’t pair him with a useless d man like Nurse. People may hate Bouch for his mistakes but he also produces points. Nurse does nothing but make mistakes and produce nothing. He is by far deserving of all the criticism

  16. Bouchard despite his difficulties in the defensive zone both regular season and playoff games came up huge in the playoffs key moments

  17. Bouchard is a nothing more than a mediocre forward. Looking at what $20 million for him and Nurse?? Sorry, but Bouchard is bait for a decent goaltender which is the missing piece for this team to not grip the sticks so tight when Skinner is in, and to a lesser extent Pickard. Bye bye Bouchard.

  18. This is why Bowman aquired Walman and Klingberg to load up the blue line of 6 Dman that are reliable 20+ minutes (missing Ekholm). No other teams in the league have 6 dman that average 20+ minutes
