you know what builds momentum, getting away with stuff. , maybe the Habs match some questionable play and see if it works
pls someone explain to me why the anderson hit on wilson is a penalty, but not the wilson hit on carrier…
habs fans in the stands are the biggest crybabies i've ever witnessed, anything that happened was met with booing, actually doesn't matter about this game but just compounds from the game before, them booing/chirping and flipping off L. Thompson when he got hurt and going off the ice last game is all that needs to be said. Classless fanbase.
For Habs fans, it’s not over yet but either way it’s great seeing this young roster in the playoffs, playing their heart out and a full Bell Centre cheering them on.
Dobes is 5 times better then monty 😂
Caps are lucky to be leading. They've been outplayed all series on the whole. They're just a better team so their crap play hasn't been taken advantage of by Montreal
Wash is well coached and the better team. But they are clearly available to be defeated. But Mtl isnt well coached and subject to repetitive mistakes..like not shooting at the net when the shot is there. Mtl is fascinated with the set-up rather than..just shoot the frigging puck at the net! They could easily double their dangerous chances. But the #1 mistake by MSL was pulling the goalie with 2:47 left. Jackeye played a sound game but Hutson
did not. Carriere plays scared and Wash knew. Savard over Struble is all on MSL. Follow this advice and it's Habs in 5.. je pense..maybe?
Officiating inconsistencies, game to game and team to team… Pro sports getting more rigged every year. Get gambling out of human based sport.
Both hits were clean
Dobes reminds me of Peter Budaj when Price got injured in 2014. I think we need to try Primeau in game 5
The Habs do not have a youth/inexperience issue moving forward. They have a playoff size issue. Everyone knows playoff hockey is significantly more physical than the regular season, so hopefully all of the rightful acknowledgment of how young and talented this Montreal team is will mean the front office takes advantage of the attention and trades a bunch of these talented young (but undersized not very physical) players for some high-quality and physical players.
The average height for the top five point scorers for Montreal in the regular season was 5’10. 3 of those 5 were shorter than 5’10.
The average height for the top five point scorers for Washington in the regular season was 6’4. 2 of those 5 were shorter than 6’4 because both of the 2 were 6’3.
Caps fans cheering on the gooning and crying about Anderson last game on the bunch is hilarious.
Wahhh wahhh Wilson. Why you always running from the fights? Sitting down and crying after a clean hit hahahaha.
It's going game 7 Montreal. They played 10 times better all season when it comes to the situation do or die this year 3 period was crazy this season They always came back and win I don’t know. I think they will win in Washington. They’re gonna win one and they’re gonna come back home and win and then it’s gonna be game 7 and this could go both sides, but I still be happy with the habs they play the way I expected rookies on ice
Tom Wilson had a Tom Wilson hat trick tonight. 1 empty net goal, 1 kill, and possession of the other team's souls.
With the speed of today's game and the hitters targeting the head like this, it may be a matter of time before we get a fatality.
Same situation as in 2021. We know what happened…
god, i just cant stand the Caps.
The hit on Carrier was charging. no penalty… Bring up Thorpe, Reinbacher, Florian and MAILLOUX.
Caps got a lot of difficulties agaisnt a team in reconstruction and a second and rookie goalers, they cant win without refs .
Even though they're both likely to lose in 5 games, these playoffs are invaluable to both Canadiens and Senators – they should be dangerous in the years to come.
Lol… Wilson destroyed them
Tom Wilson shows once again he is a game changer in the best way, and him taunting the crowd after his goal was beautiful
So Canes and Caps win by the same score…
When the NHL added a second ref to the game some years back, the phantom penalty calls went up proportionately.
Please don't drop the 'ref you suck' chant commenting, that's when you are at your funniest sir!!
refs were atrocious..what is up as they seem to be bad in all series….is Bettman making sure canadian teams can not win…
Stop the ref stuff… childish
in the interest of player safety, the NHL should adopt stricter standards and penalties for headshot hits. The amount of injuries and almost injuries from blindside hits and headshots (partial or no) has just been sad in this first round.
Please keep the ref you suck chants it always brightens my day
MTL with only 18 shots on goal 🤦♂️ you are not winning vs the Caps with those numbers.
It reminds me of the chant “Potvin Sucks” that continued even after his retirement. Perhaps just mention “H. R. Y. S.”
i agree the refs hear that they suck every game, but it would be nice to get some consistency on the calls/non calls between the teams, just look at the xhekaj or ghule penalties versus every one of wilsons hits.
Tom Wilson is an X factor
Praying Montreal takes their pound of flesh next game. Wilson needs to be put in his place after doing nothing but playing dirty.
Not a fan of either team but the capitals who should have this series easily seems to be both lucky and mostly classless. Taking cheap shot and acting like babies.
Tom Wilson knows that he's the heel in Montreal and will play it up.
I really feel like Hutson isn't getting enough criticism defensively. He's brilliant on offence, but he's had several unforced mistakes that have cost the Habs goals in this series, and they've all been completely unrelated to his size/strength. You can say Dobes should have covered the puck on goal 1 tonight, but Huston put him in that awkward position of the puck trickling towards him by trying to make a cute play at his own blue line as the last guy back.
In general, the Habs just look young defensively. They're incredibly disciplined 95% of the game, and then there's an unforced momentary lapse in coverage or stupid decision that Washington pounces on. If the Habs can clean those up, they'll start being able to win 2-1 or 1-0 games, an ability which is critical in the playoffs when your offence has an off night or bounces just aren't going your way.
Ya we aren’t winning shooting 4 FUCKING SHOTS A PERIOD….
One time I suggested on the NHL reddit that fans start chanting compliments to the ref to try and butter him up a bit rather than chanting about the ref's suck percentage every time, since I figured it'd be a kinda funny change of pace. That comment got downvoted into oblivion, so I don't think the chant is going away any time soon, haha.
Wednesday will be payback day for 2010 series. Time to move on to the next round. Go Caps!
I understand the ref you suck commentary might be redundant… HOWEVER, it always gives me a good chuckle for some reason. I would vote NO on canning it from the board lol especially when the joke is expanded on
As a caps fan, so impressed with the core of mtl. Love what the future will hold for Canada's greatest franchise
No 5v5 goals 18 shots on net refs aren’t the problem
Hard melting after great beginning. You can't lose shots to a relatively slow Caps team.
when protas comes back caps can go far in this playoff. The key is they get goals from so many lines.
It was Ovi on the other side on Washington's tying goal. Caufield plays for the Habs.
Fans need to insert a "Refs, fair call" chant when they see that the player obviously did the thing they're being penalized for.
"you suck" has no weight unless you tell them when they're correct.
Id say an underrated aspect of this caps team is pain tolerance. Something u don’t think about too often, but OV and Wilson are capable of playing with broken bones and that is basically superhuman
Did Wilson make contact with any part of the body aside from the head? Brutal attempt to injure. An embarrassing piece of garbage person.
The refs were all in for Washington. Montreal kept getting phantom penalties, Demidov has his stick taken from him and thrown around by some player as he's leaving the Habs zone. The number of objectively automatic penalties Ovechkin and Wilson got away with is staggering. I don't remember who, but Savard got what amounts to Charging, a penalty that no longer exists apparently which got his face stamped into the corner of the board. Another time, another player had his stick taken away from him and thrown around. I stopped caring when I expected this to continue in the third period despite mtl leading 2-1, the refs were going to continue doing this, the only great goal from Washington was Mangiapane's, a guy I have only things to say about, the other 2 were really Dobes' fault, especially the one goal where if he had just jumped on the puck to save it and stop the play, which he could have easily done. Bad luck struck more than anything but the refs who always say they don't want to influence the play too much, especially in the playoffs, only meant it for one team last night 🙄
Oh and shouldn't have the ref whistled when Carrier was clearly down and out? It's what happens normally when a guy is down and is barely able to get up. That's the one part of the game that tickled me off the most. Inconsistency to unprofessional, Junior BB ref levels.
