The head office needs to get a reality check. 9 straight years missing playoffs . Not acceptable anymore. Wings are terrible. Looked like a desperate hockey club at the end. Need to have a front office that's able to make changes so we can make playoffs WTF. Steve how much longer you going to make wrong decisions?
Lark is a really good end-to-end player, and has been for a long time. I’m sure it’s frustrating to miss the playoffs again, but it’s disappointing to hear the captain of the team blaming a quiet trade deadline for the team’s complete collapse after 4 Nations. They were on fire after McClellan arrived, then completely tanked in March (again). The players, and especially the Captain, should take accountability for that, regardless of what moves were or weren’t made at the trade deadline.
It is disappointing to miss the playoffs by this much two years in a row but there is still improvement vs just a few years ago. This off-season will be crucial in turning the corner to get into the playoffs.
He’s right. You can criticize Larkin all you want but it doesn’t change the fact that Yzerman did nothing meaningful at the trade deadline yet again, this is getting old. Time to be a big boy and start making some real moves, Steve. No more of these Holl, Petry, Copp, Compher type signings. Go get a real superstar.

Replaced the coach and it boosted the team, then nothing. Wasted time again
If they don’t lose to bottom feeder teams prior to the deadline, this is never even a discussion. Same thing happened last year losing out on multiple points to the Sharks. It’s up to Larks to have his guys ready and dialed in every night.
Yeah, and what kind of spark? The team went on a 7 game skid or whatever in March…AGAIN! Even if Yzerman traded for someone at the deadline, the team was going to miss the playoffs anyway.
The only reason this team was even remotely in a playoff race is because of a franchise best PP%. But even if they made it, we would get swept. The team is fucking terrible at playing defense at even strength. It’s been like that for years. The PK is even worse. They finished with the 4th or 5th lowest PK% in NHL history.
Please ALL , stop acting like you don't already know this… The Yzerman plan has always been an 8 to 9 year plan just to Get to the point of being a second round type of playoff team. THEN trade assets, purchase players, picks, etc. when we are in our window. If he can pick up an asset along the way like Debrincat along the way who is young and a free agent , then he will do it. He said he will not use the cap the way he d I d in Tampa. He is obviously waiting for what he thinks is the sweet spot; and judging from interviews, he is willing to win or die on that hill ! You might as well go with the flow, b/c He wants what you want, but He's just doing it his way and not your way. By the way he's openly hinted that the sweet spot is likely going to start around 2029-30. So don't you all go having a heart attact !
Yes this team's pretty good , except their Defence needs 2 to 3 more major improvements. If these are the only changes, mgnt. makes during the summer. This team will be much much much better next season. Could we use some more abrasiveness and perhaps a net front guy also ? Heck yeah, that might even get us to the second round. We will see what happens. By 2028, this Wings ship should be righted.

It wasn’t just that. Giving up Gostisbehere and Walman hurt us. The Tarasenko pickup was a disaster.
