Liability Laine should only be used on power plays.
It's not to change the match results and I know referees behave differently in playoffs but they really sucks in this series. A example? Gallagher and Caufield cross ckecked directly on the head and not penalities at all…

Habs fans: 2 things, maybe circumstantial from a Caps fan
1) in 2018, caps lost games 1 and 2 of round 1 (at home no less), and went on to win the Stanley Cup
2) Last year, the Caps were swept in the first round by a 1 seed
Either way you slice it, whatever happens from here there is no reason to panic or bail on these Habs, just cheer your ass off game 3
thers literally no way the habs can win one…getting a single goal takes literally everything out of them so thi thing is over Sunday and the caps will be fully rested for round 2
Montreal are really bad defensively their shots for / against ratio has been crap for a while now… Laine is a 1 trick pony, every other team knows to prepare for this… he's super slow and doesn't use his size… What a let down
Egregious missed call on the cross check to caufield face. Habs showing serious resilience could easily be up 2-0 in this series. Next 2 at home got the Habs. Caps won’t handle the pressure of playing in the loudest building in the show.
I know the whistle tends to be tucked away during the playoffs but the number of Caps' uncalled penalties so far is insane. Gallagher & Caufield getting cross-checked straight on the face, Hutson being roughed up like a rag doll, etc. I get the "don't wanna influence the game" approach but on the other hand, not calling penalties also influence the game.
Xhekaj won't necessarily influence the Habs offensively but he will be an effective deterrent. Otherwise, X gon' give it to ya!
Xhejak just got word that a cross check to the face isn’t a penalty. Montreal is being outplayed but that doesn’t change the fact 3 uncalled cross checks to the face exist
Ref on the Caufield crosscheck told St. Louis that it was a push and not a crosscheck. Got to love semantics.

Caps remind me more of Montreal in 2010…blocking shots all over the place. Just hope they avoid further injuries.

Just one point I want to make regarding the Officiating, If Anderson's cross Check on Wilson warranted a penalty then so did Caufield getting cross checked, I really do not care what they call just want consistency in the way they call a game and I would bet the players and coaches feel the same way on either team

seems pretty accurate that you have a banged up Habs logo besides the Caps one. Xhejak needs to make an appearance, if only to see what he can do in the playoffs. I mean it seems that the league allows crosschecks to the face in these playoffs so I think Xhejak would fit right in don't you think?
As for the crosschecks to the face, it's one thing to have the refs miss a call but for the league not adding any disciplinary action on these is just ridiculous!!
im rooting for mtl but capitals should be destroying them considerating mtl lineup. either team gonna get smoked next round carolina/panthers if u watch their game not the same level even toronto are not gonna be a easy win (hurt to say it)

Montreal has played well enough, ill say that. But its obvious when the Caps turn it on who the 1 seed is and who the 8 seed is. Ive watched this Caps team all year and this looks more like the team i was watching most of the year. I think Montreal just needs to take this as a learning experience. This is Ovis last run probably and i dont see this team going out this early. They want a good run for the old man. If it wasnt for Montembout these could have been blowouts.
Habs keep playing that heart attack hockey where they don't show up until the 3rd. Let's hope they show up when the game begins on Friday.

Losing by 1 goal in both games (3rd goal was a EN) really stings…So close but so far.
Laine better not be stepped foot back on the ice in this series…Newhook and especially Demidov looked better when Laine was stapled to the bench unfortunately.

Thompson is giving up tons of rebounds. So far none have ended up on a Canadiens' stick. A luckier team would be scoring several on him.

Every team mtl plays the opposing goalie always looks like a vezna calibre goalie could literally be a Pylon in net mtl would still find a way to make it look like the most talented pylon ever.
Without Montembeau both games are blowouts after 2 periods, Caps obviously the better team. But I dont like the way theyre sitting back in the 3rd periods and letting Montreal push back. Would like to see them put the game away sooner

I dont feel like Wahington has a big advantage over Montresl, a mayne home ice will be the clincher in this serie.

Glad my team the Capitals took a 2-0 series lead but they have gotta play better in the 3rd period..they were lucky that Thompson was awesome but also some of that was luck too and that luck is gonna run out at some point
