We will recap game three of the Edmonton Oilers vs The Los Angeles Kings, which saw a controversial call completely change the tone of the series. that and more on today’s NHL playoff hockey video!
I hate the inconsistency with goalie interference. That looks like textbook interference. Skate not only in the crease but past the goal line and pinning the goalie’s skate in there. Some arguments I’ve seen say “that didn’t inhibit the goalie from getting back, see? He didn’t even try!” Is a crap argument. Put your stomach on the ground, spread your legs like that, then have someone pin your foot… you physically cannot move.
Oh well, I have no stake in who wins this series… just seems so weird to me how that was called
The Kings are shooting for those top corners will regularity, especially on the glove side. With the steel sieve that is the Oiler defence, allowing a lot of these shots from close range, you guarantee the Kings will score a lot of goals. On the power play, the Oilers also seem very reluctant to put a shot on goal unless they have the perfect angle. Two or three passes should be enough but they pass it around and around and sometimes wind up without even a shot towards the goal, despite the man advantage.
Might look bad but if you actually pay attention thay is Tendy Interference against Kane. No, Kopitar did not force him to lift Kuemper's pad with the skate either.
There is definitely a strong argument that this was goal tender interference, but it's pretty obvious that when it comes to a call like this, that could go either way refs will take the series/game and who is at home into consideration in order to make the game more interesting and you can't blame them for that and as a good coach you should also take those same factors in consideration when deciding to challenge and it was definitely a bad challenge that most certainly changed the game and had an impact on the series how much of an impact on the series is still TBD but still a very bad challenge to take…
Nearly 10 mins on how the oil suck. 3 mins on how they won but still slagging n disregarding. I know it hurts for you but even kings fans think it was a goal. Perhaps 2 hours on the rangers tire fire might be more up yer alley! I’ll keep watchin’ though. 😉
"Bouchard CONTINUES to be great in the playoffs"….. was that a mistake when reading the script or?…. because Bouch was fucking awful in the first 2 games
I gotta laugh at all of these people who say oilers are back, they are healthy….etc. just because they won game 3. Well sort of, Hiler gave them that game because of a very bad challenge. So yeah oilers won because of that. Both teams are great teams. Looking forward to a great series. GKG GKG
If you don't know, as long as you're PLAYING THE PUCK in the crease, you also have a right to that space just as the goalie does. Evander Kane already had his leg planted and was playing the puck, he did NOT have to move it or make things convenient for Kuemper once the puck was on his stick, or within his ability to play. You cant directly interfere with Kuemper, but standing your ground or having your foot slide a little bit is absolutely not interfereing with a tender. Kuemper can push back to take space the same way people claim Kane is doing. They both have a right to that space, simply Kane needs to establish it first
Goaltender interference is almost ALWAYS called on players WITHOUT the puck, which is why you're able to run goaltenders as you score/after you score goals. Youre entitled to that space as a puck carrier.
"Attacking players can enter the crease AFTER the puck enters" Kane does not have to give up space to Kuemper, and a sliding skate is not conclusive evidence of any deliberate leg movement especially when hes paddling the puck and being pushed by a defender.
Kane ESTABLISHED space, and then was pushed further into it. Super legit and not inconsistent
Learn rules of establishing space. Its why val nicushkin's goal in game 3 was good and the pick play wasnt interference. The avs offensemen ESTABLISHED SPACE
Pittsburgh has showed many, many times. You can out score opponents in the regular season all you want…when the playoffs come, you always run into at least one team that simply out scoring them for 4 out of 7 games just isn't going to happen. This is why I still say Edmonton isn't a real contender. They're built on pure offense, defense is definitely suspect, and their goalie tandem isn't going to be stealing any games. You almost always need your goalie to steal a few games for the team if they want a chance at the cup.
Also, people need to stop acting like Bouchard is something special. On any other team, he's a middle/bottom 6 defenseman who's a complete liability in his own end and totally lacks the physicality a defenseman of his size should have. Big deal, he puts up points. Just about any defender in the league could put up points playing with the Oilers top 6 during 5v5 and playing the PP with the likes of McDavid, Draisatl, Nugent-Hopkins, etc. He's like Karlsson, when he makes the plays, they look great. But then when you go and watch the goals against, he's always standing in front of the net without taking the players stick or clearing the crease, or he's got a horrid gap on a player allowing them to cruise in from atop the dots and wire one uncontested. Bouchard is just a younger version of the same 😂
It was weird how LA up by only 1 with 10 mins left, drastically changed strategy & started dumping the puck over & over, sitting back & playing strictly defense. LA literally just stopped playing. Which is what eventually led to all this. Handed the game to the Oilers. Of course there was going to be a tying goal eventually when you just keep giving the Oilers the puck. Makes no sense.
Kings are best home team sure but also worst road team. So where does that put them, middle of the pack? Momentum swings can be a b.tch, the Oilers ability to come back is better honestly then anyone else in my biased opinion lol
Can you please stop covering Canadian teams ? You sounded hurt in this video and didn’t go into details as to why that Kane goal was allowed ..” I definitely thought this was coming back annnnd it didn’t” 😂 bro even kings fans agreed with the goal.
Goaltender interference is subjective so that refs/the league can make biased calls when needed. Same can be said for penalties, call weak ones or miss blatant ones to give an edge.
Not a kick because yes Kane did kick the puck but enough time went by before he batted it in with his stick and not interference because he’s being pushed into Kemper. It was a good goal the only nervous part was if somehow they screw the Oilers on this because well it’s the NHL and they seem to make crap up.
Eck, I’m a Kings guy and I totally agree with your assessment regarding Edmonton, but the Kings kind of blew that whole scenario by attempting to challenge the referee’s call based on goalie interference. Anyone who really watched the replays from all the angles could see that there clearly wasn’t any goalie interference. The call on Kane could have just as easily been called a kicked in goal. The real “whoops” was challenging it when the game is tied 4-4 with 6 minutes and change left. The Kings could have just “bit the bullet” and attempted to finished out the third period tied at 4-4 then hunkered down in the OT and battled it out for the win, instead they went for pulling the goalie?!!? Wrong answer there, obviously. That immediate 10 second power play goal was the killer. The two other empty net goals were nothing but a “freebie” after what was already a foregone conclusion at that point. I’m hoping that my guys don’t make these mistakes again and at least get a win in the game tonight. Thanks for your awesome videos!! And your Star Wars channel too!! 👌😉🫶😁😇👍
I have NO idea what this rubbish people think SW is today.
Instead, I will sit under my classic Hildebrandt poster, slip in a DVD of 4K77, touch-up and re-card my old figures and beat-up Kenner TIE….and remember when things were not hot garbage.
isn’t the ref supposed to blow the whistle as soon as he loses sight of the puck??? i feel like the ref was completely lost and only noticed anything once the oilers started celebrating
I hate the "Greasers," but they will win tonight 4-1. This is a wagers money series giving the books the edge, so it is going 7 with the Kings prevailing going away 6-2 at home. That's my take.

You know when all of us nobodies watching from home think it was a stupid challenge then it was a stupid challenge
How does L.A. having 5 forwards on their power play affect their penalty kill?

You lost your credibility with this video

You were the only me that thought this was coming back 😂
Continues to be great? Bouchards stock has been at an all time low

the Oil are not the tem they were last year at all…LA is winning the series ,and possibly going up 3-1 heading back home to finish off – 4-1
Daryll would never
That was one of the easiest goals to call

Can’t believe you thought it was coming back. You and Hiller are the only people on the planet that thought that was goalie interference.
Andor is releasing 3 episodes a week!?

You thought you knew how goaltender interference was going to be call???? That is as far fetch as believing the Death Star was vulnerable.

It was a good goal. Bad challenge.

Oilers catch a miracle break and suddenly they're gonna win 3 more in a row😅😅😅
Ya doesn’t matter if his foot is hitting the goalie skate. He was unable to get out of the crease.
"Did one challenge change the series?" Bruh it's one game.
An "aboot" and a "Surry", Love you mate.
WE ARE CUP BOUND
Lol Eck thought this would get called back lol. Maybe stick to fictional stories lmao also oilers never play 5 forwards on PP. they play 4 and 1
Kaine was being pushed into the goalie! It’s not even close to interference.
yea but. . . .star wars sucks now. . .
Thanks for hockey and Star Wars at the same time
Why was edmonton on power pkay after that kane incident?

Star Wars ended in 1983.

Good job trying to save some of your talking points written before the game was over.
You mean the right call and a challenge that shouldn't have happened changed the series. Kings bench is clueless.
When LA challenged, I was already celebrating basically gifted the oilers all the momentum
