As a Blues fan Im not worried about the outcome more than I am how certain players progress and others gaining exp. That said, those of you Jets fans in here celebrating — you might want to relax. Win game 3 and then you can celebrate, you barely won these games and needed another 1st goal to go off something other than a Jets' player's stick. Ive seen so many very highly-touted Blues teams blow 2 game leads in the PO's prior to 2019.. Jets have that same stigma on them but I hope if they do win the series they go all the way. I like the idea of WPG's market being the first to get a Cup for CAN since '93. Would also be funny to see Berube on the other bench..
If someone ever needed an explanation for the Scheifele extension show them this goal.
I mean the Blues basically scored on themselves twice. Itâs tough to win when youâre doing that. Sniggerud knocked the first goal in and Patayko ripped the stick ripped binningtons stick out of his hand on the second. Thatâs tough. Maybe the Blues just arenât ready to beat a primed team. Jets have been losing and building to the team they are now for 5 or 6 years. The Blues are a really young team.
Parayko looks lost. Team was playing better without him.
Jets need to shoot high stick side on Biddington, he is very strong in the lower part on the net.
Sweep incoming
Go jets go!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blues need Dylan Holloway so bad
I think the Jets PP is lacking because of the absence of Vilardi and Ehlers. Those 2 with #55, #81 and #44 clicked most of the season. Rumour is Vilardi will be back game 4. That will definitely help the net presence with his return. Jets are dominating the 5 on 5 game. Just stay outta that penalty box! Big Stan needs to remember, 2 hands on the stick across the back is a NO NO. A side note, the Hawerrchuk family were in attendance which brought that extra bit of luck!! GO JETS
All im looking for as a jets fan is to win one of the next two games, if we can split then ill be happy
I thought there was some weak calls on both sides this game. Not your typical âput the whistles away and let them playâ type of reffing.
Also the jets were a lot better at winning puck battles compared to game 1.
The Jets have finally won more than 1 game in the playoffs!
Also What a Big hit by Stanley! He needs to lean more into his physicality, because when he hits like that I donât think there is a single player who could withstand that impact!
"The ref is told that he sucks" lol
man, I don't know if whoever wins this series will be able to continue to win in the playoffs because of these hits. This is playing like a final.
Go Jets Go!
Comes down to which team makes the most mistakes. So far that has been the Blues.
Two game bumper means that if Gabe is cleared for contact, they'll likely still not play him on game 3 just to give him a bit more extra time…
Game 3 stl wins 5 -1. Yes I'm a Jets fan. However…. Kyrou had to have some bruised or cracked ribs after stan blew him up. He was not the same after. Thomas got absolutely warn out. 2 days off helps. He'll get a few massages. Anybody wanna see the Schenn bros drop them in game 3? Perhaps a goalie fight? We will see STL try everything to get the fans into it. If the Jets get a lead I totally see STL drop em to get the fans and bench some adrenaline. Firmly believe the blues will win Thursday… Or…. Have the blues run out of gas? Stan 64 was a beast out there.
The blues are letting them have too many chances, binnington canât save them all
As soon as we went back to long stretch passes that either end up as a turn over or icing the puck I knew we were gonna lose
You would expect more fight from a team when you are only down by one goal but it didnât happen
Tucker in the lineup was needed but rolling 7 defenseman was a mistake we need to sit Leddy or Faulk they just turn the puck over way too much
The Jets are the superior team no doubt about that. Iâm just glad the Blues are making it look close and arenât getting embarrassed out there. The kids are letting it get to them so theyâre taking dumb penalties and theyâre entirely blowing through their energy in the first 40 leaving nothing for the 3rd. Hopefully having the STL crowd will fire them up to get them back in the series
Fun series thus far and love the whiteout! Thanks, Shannon
HELLEBUYCK FOR THE HART
This has been an amazing series so far, both teams laying it all out. The refs need to put the whistles away, just call legit penalties. Some head scratchers against both teams being called. Games shouldnât be influenced by bad calls.
Helle and the Jets always squeeze the D even tighter for a handful of games after a relatively loose game of allowing 3+ goals.
The Blues got the the Jets right where they want them đ¤
St. Louis is doing pretty good for a retooling team.
Hidden in those penalty numbers is how paper thin some of those calls the Blues got were. Ones on Schieffle and Schenn felt like watching Eddie Guerrero knock out the ref with the belt and throw it to the other guy when ref got up.
How's Yvonne holding up seeing the Jets doing well? Betting she's smiling even more lately. GO Jets GO!
I was there! It was electric! Go Jets Go!!!!
THG normally your analysis is spot on. This time, in analyzing the Blues vs. Winnipeg series you missed the boat. [Note, I'm a die hard Blues fan who has seen them since the beginning (i.e., '67]. My Blues CANNOT win the series, let alone win one game, without Holloway and a healthy Parayko. Parayko is 80% (not 100%) in light of his recent knee surgery. If you watch him carefully, he's not as quick, nor does he take his patented hard slap shot. He still helps the Blues BUT he's not as lethal. Of course without Holloway's speed and offensive ability the Blues won't be able to really compete against the Jets.
THG go back to the games in early April. Holloway gets injured on April 3rd. Thereafter, the Blues beat the Wings the next game (2-1) without him – and lose the rest of the games except for the last one against Utah (i.e., a team already eliminated from the playoffs).
With a healthy Holloway it would be at least a 6 game series. If Parayko is 100% healthy it would be an even series. Unfortunately, in light of the situation, I'd be thrilled if the Blues win one game and didn't get swept.
ps – I don't whether you noticed it, but during a recent game Parayko either assisted or scored a goal – a teammate wanted to jump on him to congratulate him – Parayko held him at bay. Translated – he didn't want anyone putting any extra weight on the knee that just had surgery.
Using Ai after winning the first 2 games in a 7 game series the percentage is 80% odds of winning – Go Jets Go! Great job Shannon!
2 down 14 to go
I guess we should expect a lucky goal from Schiefele in every game. In the first game he attempts to pass across the crease and the puck hits Suter's stick and pops in the net. In the second game he makes a great move, but it wouldn't have been a goal if Snuggy hadn't slid into Binner. These games are very close so one lucky goal can/does make a difference.
Blues fans in game 3: 'SILVER MEDAL! clapcalp-clapclapclap SILVER MEDAL! *clapclap-clapclapclap*'
The Blues going with seven defenseman and 11 forwards was a mistake. I get wanting to have Tucker in there to gain some experience and he's a big boy that plays a heavy game, but the result was to disrupt the defensive pairings. The Blues were third in the league this year with goals by defenseman and getting scoring from the back end is a big key to their success. The seventh defenseman worked against the flow. Plus the missing forward means double shifting for the guys up front. You could tell by the middle of the third period that they were gassed.
Jets giving the Blues fits.
So I think the St. Louis Blues can win this series. The Winnipeg Jets are up 2-0, but I think if the St. Louis Blues can get back to their winning ways, I think they have a good chance. Maybe the St. Louis Blues fell off the wagon a little bit, but the St. Louis Blues have an 11 game winning streak at home. Maybe they just need a push from their fans
Jets will play better in St Louis. They were nervous at home.
snuggerude is the best nhl player name đ
I wanna say that hit on kyrou was interference and high but dudes just tall and kyrou just played the puck.
If itâs not for ticky tack bs penalty calls by the refs, the blues probably lose by more than 1 goal. The Jets are dominating them 5v5.
