The Blues drop Game 2 in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by a final score of 2-1. Despite Jordan Binnington’s solid performance, St. Louis is not able to get enough offense to knot the series as things head back to St. Louis. Ethan Hannaford, Mike Claiborne, Thomas Welch, and Jacob Stanoch break it all down on the Blues Hub Postgame Show.

Winnipeg was NOT better last year than this year. They stick to their system and Arniel adjusts well throughout the game. Blues looked good too but I think the Jets are just a bit better.
The number of hits will drop off now that the series has progressed to the third game.
Too soon to call this series.
Jets fan here. Blues played a great game. Every foot of ice is contested. Blues could easily have won tonight. I’m impressed by their grit We have a series
blues fan if not sure!!!!
crash the net!!! shoot!! way to beat hellrnbuck
Blues need to get more pucks to the net
I have to say the reason nobody went after Schiefele after colliding with Binnington was because they knew he couldn't control it. He gets knocked down flying towards the net.
Also watch Schiefele, he turns his back and keeps his legs down the reduce the chance of injury to Binnington and it looks bad but i think Binnington saw that and kinda tried to go over Schiefele to avoid his legs getting trapped.
If Binnington thought Schiefele ran him… Binnington wouldn't have just skated away.
Jets fan here as well. Blues are playing good. It could all be tied up going into game 5 easily.
Remember the jets are missing 2 60 point wingers
Jets have the puck luck Gods on their side. ALL Blues goals have been hard earned quality goals.
We're cooked boys.
STL Homer Hub delusional as always.
The series is over.
It is good to see the Blues play this close with a great Winnipeg team. They have come a long way this season. The Blues have been a great home team this year so if it evens up 2-2 it will be a three game series. I do think there has been a drop off when Dylan Holloway was injured near the end of the 12 game winning streak. Holloway can break through barriers and Winnipeg has very good defense. He also shoots the puck often. Have to credit the Jets in the first two games and last night saw two great goalies. This was neat seeing Mike Claiborne. I have heard him on the radio for many years especially talking Cardinals.
Trust me the series is done. We all watch hockey. If JETS take game 3, it’s a sweep. The Jets are WAY better than last year, so the comment of him saying they were better last year is comical 😂.
Helle plays the odds. When you go down into the butterfly you reduce the available targets by a ton. And when you are so flippin tall you still cover a ton of upper net area. So you basically challenge the shooter to snipe the top corners. If the rest of the team keeps pressure on the shooters and eliminate their time to aim then you see all those chest shots. In the first game Jets gave the shooters time and space and they were able to make pin point shots. After that there has been few of those opportunities.
Close games, but unfortunately for the Blues, the entire season was close wins for the Jets – that seems to be their motus operandi.
The hardest shots for a goalie to stop in butterfly are always going to be five hole on the way down or any shot by the ear over the shoulder especially blocker side. Try it yourself right now, your head even a shoulder shrug just doesn't cover the space in time, moving you glove to that spot is the furthest distance to travel and blocker side with a stick in your hand it's almost impossible to get to. Goalies go down in butterfly because they are playing the percentages most shots are a foot or less off the ice. I have noticed a tendency for the Blues to go high blocker this series.
Blues took out their own goalie twice and scored on themselves.
You guys sound like frogs in a boiling pot of water talking about the weather. The Blues are going down in 4.
20:49 Scheifele got driven into Binner. Knowing Schief he was in the net likely asking Bin if he’s alright before he crawled out.
The jets are way better this year then last year
Blues aren’t exactly good on the road jets could win all 3 games at home then game 7 is must win for one of these teams but blues need to seriously win both games while they’re at home
Jets r running over Binnington? Scheifele literally gets tossed into Binnington by a blues defencman. Literally can’t blame Scheifele for blues dman being an idiot and tryna kill his own goalie.
That was the best game the Jets played this year. Blues were really good
A few important facts…
1. Fowler shoved Scheifele into Binnington.
2. The Jets are a better team this year. More committed defensively, better team play, Schenn & Tanev were great additions and guys like Perfetti, Samberg & Stanley have matured.
3. Helle was caught playing to deep in his net. This is his style, but at times he can be caught playing too deep. The good thing is he corrects that very quickly when his GC reminds him not to get lazy and rely too much on his size.
4. The Blues have benefitted greatly from some very soft calls by the refs. PPG's have kept the games close on the scoreboard.
5. Jets PP1 is missing 2 key players…Ehlers & Vilardi.
6. The team that is up 2-0 in a series wins the series 85% of the time.
So just had to respond to the winning in the others building…how many wins against the Jets did the Blues had in St. Louis this ? Did they not lose both their home games against the Jets?
I just feel like this whole thing is a plus. We weren’t even supposed to be here… And we’re showing we can at least hang neck and neck with the best team in the league. In my opinion, games one and two were still very close games for the most part. No matter what happens there is finally some real positivity to look forward to next season. That’s all you could ask for.
Lol jets scored 2 it felt like St. louis coulda scored 3…. nice 😂😂😂
Jets fan here…I feel like if we get passed the blues, it will be just what they need to make it to the finals. Series is far from over, but this round one will be the biggest challenge for the team in these playoffs.
This yeae is probably not the Blues time, but it will come, when I see Snuggerud play I know good times are coming for the Blues. He is clutch.
One game at a time you say its more like one foot in the grave.
