Tampa is absolutely looking washed. Unless something major changes, their run at the top is definitely over.
I know a lot of people were picking Tampa to do big things in these playoffs, but this big Canes fan has been saying all year this Florida team is the team to beat until proven otherwise.

2 games in a row with head shaking moments as a bolts fan. First the challenge against the goal tender interference and now the hit. Not saying the bolts would have won otherwise but it didnt help.
Florida plays a suffocating, relentless game and it cannot show up every night in the regular season. The switch has been flipped. This is why they are the defending champs. They literally sandbagged to get healthy the last 2 months of the regular season. Seeding didnt matter, getting healthy did. Panthers don't really give a shit who they play or where they play them. Still baffles me that people actually picked tampa in this series.
So as a Lightning fan, it feels pretty much over. We get Vasy’s worst playoff game followed by the team’s worst offensive game all year
This game was a defensive masterclass. And, we get Ekky back game 3. I'm worried that Sasha has a concussion. I was happy to see that the Cats kept their composure after Hagel's cheap shot, but he better watch his back next game. Cats in 5!
Bob is DIALED IN right now. Defense looks impeccable and the PK is fire since Sturm came over. That hit fork Hagel was blatant attempt to injure. Barkov puts every Tampa player in timeout when he plays, so they threw a fit and asked for their binky.

I thought I was overreacting to the "subtle" pick plays. Glad THG brought them up. I've been watching a little bit of every series and some teams definitely employ this on the cycle. This being a copycat league it might get a bit more scrutinized.

I felt like I was going insane seeing everyone glazing the Bolts and picking them to go all the way to the Finals. Obviously the series isnt over and they’re definitely a contender, but like, did everyone forget the kind of team Florida is? They’re built for this time of year and they’re defending cup champs.
One those series that was very clean cut, but for some reason people saw the weaker one to have a chance. Best shut down team and all they have to do is shut down one guy.

Is this the same Tampa team that led the NHL in goals this season?
Won a game, but not sure how secure I am with the series. If Barkov returns, its over. If not, the obvious plan was to take out the shut down guy for the Panthers so Kucherov can start showing up again. Even if the Panthers go after Hagel, its penalty minutes and power plays for Tampa. So who actually wins that situation? Safe the off with his head for after the series is over? You go after him, he runs away and a goon comes in for the fight that has no effect on the outcome of the game so who cares if the goon gets thrown out of the game. So yeah, best revenge might just be hard hits when they are legal, safe the off with head for next year during the regular season, and win the series. However if someone knocks Kucherov out for the series and gets a 10 game suspension, (Gags talking to you) maybe its worth a 5 minute penalty kill.
