‘Leafs are getting playoff depth scoring missing in year’s past’: Corrado on Benoit OT winner

TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss Simon Benoit being the unlikely overtime hero for the Maple Leafs, the frustration the Senators must be feeling after two straight overtime losses, how important Auston Matthews’ goal was for him and the top line as a whole, and questions whether the Leafs will sweep or if the Senators can push the series to a Game 5.

  1. The referring was horrible, somebody is going to really get hurt. Those ref's should not be working any more games

  2. Matthews doesn't need to score another goal in the playoffs as long as keeps assisting on them. He's playing a powerful 2-way game by making plays happen in the o-zone and disrupting them in the d-zone. And he's a monster at the dot winning over 60% of his faceoffs, including the one that lead to tonight's OT winner. Number of goals cannot measure how strong Matthews has been so far in these playoffs.

  3. 1 fluke goal does not make depth scoring.

Wait until they face a stronger opponent next round some feelings will be hurt and calls for the core 4 to be blown will commence

  4. the maple trees will find a way to CHOKE. It does not have to be in the first round. Be patient. Toronto Maple Trees: choking since 1968. go leafs go. blow…again.

  5. Mitch is well spoken and doesn’t back down.

Good win full of character but the real test has yet to come. Looks like Florida will likely be their next opponent.

  6. Leafs needing OT twice to win the KRAMER AT THE DOJO series " it just feels special" till they face Florida – then it's "wait till next year". 😅

  7. This is how the Leafs would look facing normal goalies in playoffs past. They had to face Price, Vassy twice, Bob, and Sway, pretty tough to score in those circumstances.

  8. Ok leaf nation plan the parade….or….maybe for once realuze they are beating a very young new to playoffs team….if they move on…..then we can start to judge…but please no conn smythe voting yet

  9. Oh ya Carado two faced bastard. Before the series started and even after game two all you could talk about was the Senators.
    Leave Toronto traitor.

  10. I said leafs in four before the series started. It still might go five.
The real test will be round two.
But I nice change from the norm.

  11. 0:56 Do the Oilers have a Simon Benoit available? Oh wait, Matt Ekholm appears to be that similar defenceman who, due to injury, is out at least until a conference semifinal that for the Oilers is this spring unlikely to come.

  12. As the 6th defenseman, easily bumped if Hakinpaa was healthy this year, then score + have an assist on both OT goals, is a fairytale story for Benoit.
    Really cool outcome.

  13. Benoit, turning into Mr. Clutch in the Playoffs! Stollie on fire. Time to close out the series, Saturday in Kanata? The 4th game is always the toughest game too win, but the Leafs are the better team by far, the time is NOW! GO LEAFS GO !!!!

  14. Its only ottawa anyone can contribute. For finishing number one, VS a team wirh no playoff experience im still panicky its going to OT

  15. I’m sorry but from a sens fan we’ve been outplaying you but our. Goalie has been Swiss cheese
