NEWCASTLE HARBOUR – SURFING ONE OF AUSTRALIA’S RAREST WAVES
When Cyclone Thirty spun up the Coral Sea and tracked south , Newcastle Harbour lit up and transformed into something like Backdoor Pipeline. Professional free surfer Craig Anderson and ex-WSL charger Keiran Perrow were on hand to trade bombs at one of Australia’s heaviest novelty waves. The Harbour rarely breaks but when it does it demands full commitment. Watch as local chargers put it all on the line over the Easter long weekend, April 18th 2025.

A shout out to the lid riders. As a 50 year old who can’t surf anymore ( knee and hip shit) it’s good to see you amongst it . I’m learning how to 360 etc at my age . Gotta love the death stares I get in the line up , brings a smile to my face.
