  1. Awesome Drew..will be watching your game videos…normally Hockey Nation with Coach..l can support both of you 💪💪🏒🥅

  2. Thanks for live streaming, can’t wait. If Arber Xhekaj can maybe adjust his game be more defensive like Savard, then he can change it to steal the empty space on defense since Savard is retiring.

  3. 100% on Demidov. If Newhook can find his shot and be a little more precise, we'll have a pretty decent 2nd line. Laine might find another gear too, I would love to see that. Him being efficient along the boards would be huge!

  4. I think there is a point being missed concerning Arber. It's getting very obvious that Marty is very quick to bench Arber for the slightest mistake. Matheson and his "big minutes" unfortunately are mostly made up of costly mistakes. The playoffs are very physical and you can't expect Anderson to keep the other teams honest and perform well as a forward. Granted he hasn't played a lot since coming back but I just don't see anything outstanding about Rhinebacker . Logan M has slipped back a bit as well. So for me Arber is the obvious choice when Savard is done. Having said all that ; I was hoping for solid progress this season and the boys have done that so let's have some fun watching the boys getting a taste of playoff hockey !

  5. Demidov is clearly a wild-card. He's talented and driven enough that he could literally take over at critical points in many games. I'm sure he and Marty are watching a lot of video.

  6. I am just so happy that this team and the patient supportive fans gets to experience the playoffs. What I do not want to see…don't get blown out and don't lose in 4 games. My concerns, is how this team ended the season, specifically horrible first periods, some players looked a little tired/are still playing through injuries and IMO, questionable defensive play. With that said, it's the playoffs, it's a brand new season…so this is where we get to see what MSL's coaching is really like…now I caveat this bc I realize this team lineup is still evolving but still, every good head coach works with what he has. As for Drews thoughts about Mailloux…my hot take, Mailloux is not going to play as a Hab. I still feel that altho his size, being a righty, and his offensive potential is intriguing…I don't feel his defensive game has developed enough over the years. I see him being used as a possible added trade chip in a move to bring in a higher end improvement on defence or at forward. This will allow Reinbacher to be THE guy in Laval next season. As for Xhekaj, let me say it always come down to the player to improve his game but what I will say, I don't feel HE is an MSL kind of player and IMO, that Arber is not being coached/developed the way he should be. I do full agree w/Drew that Struble processes the game faster and he has outplayed Xhekaj…but I truly feel that with the right coach that allowed Arber to be Arber teaching him to improve his defensive game and allow him to use his huge shot to the teams advantage, but also continue his aggressive physical play, Xhekaj could be a Top 4 Dman…Xhekaj is the type of D you NEED in a long playoff run. But this coaching staff is wasting a potentially important piece to this teams lineup puzzle. Ok, before I get way ahead of myself…let's focus on the playoffs…the enormous experience this will give players like Slaf, Hutson, Demidov. But being realistic, I do not expect any miracles but let these kids learn, battle, and experience Montreal fans during playoffs. Go Habs Go!

  7. y would anyone think that MSL would put demidov on first PP . it took MSL 2 months to take “fall down” mathison off 1st PP …. demidov should play for slaf….. we should sit savard & armia, put kap & arber in for the experience !! savard hasnt been playing much & arber playing with savard ruined him!!! arber started trying to block shots & being slow & soft like savard!!! armia has already checked out like the old soft armia… the habs have to go back to the pat laine led december push , when they played real aggressive hockey, or they will get swept. SOMEONE in LEADERSHIP will have to lead us like cory perry did in our last cup run.. (make no mistake perry led us).. marty or suzuki will have to become better leaders, i expect someone else like a anderson or evans or hopefully demidov …. gulie could lead us but he has to stop playing shot blocker like savard…. there is no room in the playoffsfor guys like savard , mathison or anyone else laying on the ice , take the body or puck & let the goalie stop the puck & leave the cleaning of the ice to the zamboni!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I honestly don’t think Mailloux will be taking Savard’s place next year . He’s high risk at the blue line and pretty bad at making defensive reads and Reinbacher has looked incredible since he returned .
Watched his games since he came back with Laval and he is miles ahead of Mailloux even after missing the most part of the season .
I think he will eventually become a key piece of the habs rebuild and become part one the best nhl d-men duos with Hutson sooner than we expect .

  9. I think Fowler should be brought in as a backup as Dobes has many openings that he's weak on.. Fowler has a competitive spirit like Demigod does..

  10. im just gonna point out that so far after day 2 games all favorites have won game 1…if it keeps up it doesnt smell good

  11. Unless someone gets injured, I don't see Arber in the lineup. The other factor is if they get bounced around but such a big team like Washington. Habs will be similar to Ottawa, the bulk of the team has never been in the playoffs and they will feel pressured. They are pros, they all want to win, but many are learning still and mistakes will be made. But ya never know for sure, that's why they play the games. Go Habs Go

  12. Only the old timers like me who have followed Montreal for a very long time know that ANYTIME Montreal gets into the playoffs and are set to play a team so much more favored over Montreal is when Montreal are at their most dangerous and can mount huge upsets.

The Hockey Gods and Lady Luck love the Montreal Canadiens come playoff time. It has happened so often in the past.

All the ingredients are there; they were not expected to make the playoffs, they were 31st in the league standings in December, Demidov was delivered to the team by Special Delivery thanks to the Hockey Gods & Lady Luck, and they squeaked into the playoffs in the last game of the season.

I believe the Hockey Gods will sprinkle some of that magic dust on the team to elevate the players skillset and Lady Luck will make the pucks bounce Montreal's way & not Washington's.

I believe a player wearing #93 will be the part that makes the engine in this team move to get them into the Stanley Cup Finals and go all the way.

Monty or Dobes will be the hero in goal.

The Hockey Gods will place the entire Montreal team in the eye of the hurricane where they will be able to stay calm in the chaos of the hurricane that cuts down their opponents.

  13. When it comes to Laine, I think it’s his attitude ppl dislike. He always seems unhappy and his comments weren’t well received when Demidov came into the scene. He also needs to work harder 5v5

  14. It’s sad that Arber has been a regular defenseman during the rebuild but now that we are getting to be a good team there is suddenly no room for him. 😢😢😢

  15. Demidov was ducking hits after the first period in game 1 and was invisible in game 2! He won't do anything against the Caps once he gets smashed into the boards. He will not flourish in the NHL for at least 2 yrs!

  16. Xhekaj will only play if there’s an injury. His presence won’t stop the Caps from being physical . It’s not they’ll take runs . This is the playoffs . That’s just my opinion

  17. I agree about Xhekaj. It's not that he isn't good. It's just that he got beat out by Struble. I also agree with you about Ryan Leonard. I wanted the Habs to draft him too. #GoHabsGo!
