Great episode.
I saw Bridgette and Scott!
Neely wouldn't say they were going sign Sweeney right away. I read that as, Neely will stay but if the Bruins don't do well next season, Sweeney could be gone.
Could the Bruins make enough changes to be a playoff team next year? Absolutely. The NHL playoffs bar isn't that high so that's not hard to believe. Could the Bruins be a cup contender in the next year or two? Also absolutely not, at least not without a miracle from mgmt. As we've seen so far, this mgmt team is just middling, so mirarcle turnarounds aren't likely.
What Drury as GM of the Rangers did to their captain was threaten to put him on waivers, nullifying his no-trade clause. Brad Marchand also has a no-trade clause. Imagine if Sweeney had done the same as Drury, i.e. to trade Marchand where he didn't want to go in order to get a greater return! All those Western conference playoff teams might have really wanted Brad.
Defensive? There is no hope as long as the same idiots remain in place…..at least we have the Celtics.
That conference was such a weird train wreck. Some humility and self-awareness would've went a long way.
If you guys are honest, the BS that was brought up, it was asked 90% from media people, management did not stear the conversation to 10 years ago things… Don't manipulate!
If marchy wins a cup with Florida. Do you think he's back next season?
Despite the fact that the 24-25 Bruins were heavily stocked with bottom 6 and 4A players, this team still looked to me like a team that was either poorly coached or poorly led.
I've been watching some of the playoffs games and just watching how these other teams go about their on-ice game reinforces what I've been feeling all year.
This Bruins team has either been poorly coached (e.g. power play, zone entries, defensive breakdowns) all year long. Or, the team has not been listening to what their coaches have been trying to tell them. Which, to me, indicates a player leadership problem.
If you guys know that management is being contradicting, why don't you call them out on it at the time? You're Journalists, you gotta stop throwing soft balls at these guys and just accepting there word salad answer. What Chaos just put out a clip basically saying Kevin is the only Boston journalist with the guts to stand up to these guys. I know you guys don't want to lose your perks or passes, but you're doing a disservice by not challenging these guys. Journalists used to be tough, especially sports journalists. Please bring that back
