That about sums it up…

The Ducks’ season ends with a tough 2–1 OT loss to the Jets—and honestly, McTavish breaking his stick felt like the perfect summary of the year. Husso was unreal, keeping Anaheim in it with 43 saves, but the offense couldn’t quite get it done. Terry tied it in the third, and Moore picked up his first NHL point. Special teams? Still brutal. I’ve got a full season recap video coming soon, and offseason content is on the way—thank you all for riding out this rollercoaster with me. Go Ducks. #nhl #anaheimducks #winnipegjets #hockey

  1. McT absolutely knew it was because of him they lost that OT. He was so easily read it was brutal. All in all, we took a bit of a step forward, now for the off-season and hopefully something big! I told you, we get Marner, we're a top 10 team next season, QUOTE ME!

  2. Im concerned we didn’t yet get a notice that the entire coaching staff hasn’t been fired

But thank you both again for doing this great work for the fanbase! Truly appreciated 😎

  3. Thanks for the coverage this season ! I guessed a 78 pt season, but would not have believed the putrid special teams…

  4. Must have this offseason: a new special teams coach

Since we seem to be keeping Cronin: getting into the playoffs is a must to keep his job

  5. I watch the NHL here in the UK & want to thank you for your much appreciated time & effort. Enjoy your down time & hopefully we can all meet up again later in the year when the puck is dropped & the Ducks have a new set of coaches behind the benches!! Cheers every1.

  6. I hope you do some offseason coverage. You are awesome, and I will fist bump you. thank you if I ever run into you.

  7. we did get 5 20 goal scorers in a team that missed the playoffs. That is pretty decent. And we do have lots of young ones in the pipelines for the future. So it is not all bad. But, we want to see some play-offs. We need us a new Getz/Perry or Kariya/Selänne…a proper duo to hang our hopes on.

  8. The best thing about being done now is that we can finally offload the bad contracts and open up roster spots, start interviewing potential replacement special teams coaches and focus on extending the younger guys that are due. Husso actually looked awesome and seems like a steal from Detroit with the way he played. Hot take but wouldn't mind extending him and maybe a Gibby trade? Haha idk but overall, I was happy to see the improvements and seeing the most of our young guys getting more comfortable and starting to breakout. Next season should be even better. The fact that we were 5 wins away from getting 40 is actually crazy. I honestly didn't think we were going to make playoffs this year but was definitely hopeful. At least now we know it's possible to push for contention but definitely have some issues to address this offseason. No excuses next season! Only results haha

  9. Looking out from in, I still can't believe that Anahiem is tied with Washington as the most improved team. But I think that improvement is what is causing all this frustration of the season. Anahiem is now in the Uncanny Valley of NHL teams, not bad enough to just chill out and play Hockey, but not good enough at all to reach the playoffs. It's an ugly spot for any team. My dad and I also discuss this too: If anahiem was an Eastern Conference team, they likely would have still battled for a playoff spot until the very end of the season. I would like to remind that because it also shows how brutal the West is right now, so I'm not as angry over the playoffs because of that.
What I have been crashing out over however, are the special teams and the vetarans, both have just been behind the younger players. It is night and frickin day when it comes to the play from the young guns and the vetarans. The only two that make it out of it are Jacob Trouba and Alex Killorn. Other than that, the Vetarans these last 8-10 games have just been too flat-footed to make moves and score. Troy has done some good as well, I might add, but other than those 3, I have been disappointed with what they've done. Gudas has only been a Captain in title. He doesn't lead the play, he's struggled defensively, and has only taken bad penalties. I feel like Trouba, or hell! even Mctavish, would have been a better Captain. The special teams are, obvious. Only the PK was ever good enough, and the games where Anahiem didn't go on the Power Play were some of the best in the season. I Still dont remember the name of the Special teams coach, but I hope he unceramoniusly discharged, he has actually done Nothing good for the team, and has only cemented Anahiem below the .500 mark.
Now with that aside, Cronen, I'm still iffy on him. It's been a weird side to side with him this season, either the system works, or Does Not at all. It is wierd, I do think that Verbeek does keep him for next season, as it will be the final year of his contract. So we are likely going to have to deal with that for one more season. Even with the bad games he has done, he is still LEAGUES over Ekans, in my opinion at least, so I'll put up with him for one more season.
Overall, it's been a good season, like a 6/10, above average. A lot has improved with the younger players and I'm excited for what they have next, especially Ian Moore, I can't wait to see him develop. I've also seen Anahiem mentioned more and more positively in the media lately, so that's also another buff I would say. Now that it's said and done, I would say to just loosen the grip on Anahiem now, a lot has boiled over this season, and now its time let the pot settle. (at least were not vancouver rn.)

  10. End to another disappointing season 7 years of no playoffs too but still proud of these boys they put up a fight last night so shake off this season get ready for 2025-26 season hopefully next season will be better thanks for your content looking forward to your off-season news and NHL Draft too keep up the good work LET'S GO DUCKS!!!!

  11. Good job with the video's this year! The Ducks took more steps forward this year than back. It's been a while since anyone could really say that. Let's hope the young guns take another step forward next year and the team keeps improving…with maybe a chance for a playoff appearance next year!

  12. And with that, who do the Ducks take at the draft. It depends on who falls their but I am hoping for Mrtka. I know the Ducks are heavy on high end D prospects and young players, but he is huge and skates very well and listed as a right shot. With his size, skating ability and reach he could easily become a PK specialist. In time, he and Solberg on the same line could grow to be one of the best shut down pairs in the game. Just my two cents.

  13. The offense change happened because I believe it was the players going with their developed system. Players calling their own play. Cronin still needs to be fired and have a more seasoned coach for if we do want to see a team that can be playoffs bound.

  14. Improvements sure, but as a whole it isn't saying much. Some adjustments going in to the next season will be needed.
I would argue, this is the time to spend some cash and get some actual grit, physicality and pure will to produce in the line-up, not just washed up vets looking for a year of vacation where they can lay back and relax.
Consider removing the C from Gudas, make a statement that this is not the expectations we had. But I am guessing he will keep it for the reminder of his contract. Loved the trade that got him here, but hated the move to give him the C.
Fire the special teams coaches. Last in the league is unacceptable.
Cronin can start the next season, sure. But if we are looking at a below .500 record 15-20 games in and signs of struggle, he should be gone.
There are some contracts to sign, including some juicy RFAs. Be smart about it.

  15. Best Ducks post game shows on the interwebs. Period. TIMMY to KIMMY is a smashing success! ❤Thank you for your hard work and Duckdication! 🦆

  16. Thanks for the great coverage this season! Looking forward to the peak offseason content, and next year’s cup campaign of course

  17. Thanks for all your Coverage!

    Excited by the young core.
They definitely have to improve the PP if Ducks want to make the playoffs. 🍻

  18. DML!! Thanks for the great content throughout the frustrating year. The boys did better than last year which is all we can ask for.

  19. Taking the jets that won the presidents trophy to ot is a massive win. Next season is playoffs. MacT, Leo, lacombe. Cutter. All were terrific by seasons end. Watch out for the ducks next year! The Trouba trade was amazing for this team. I still want to see Strome gone.

  20. Ok we need to be fair this was the best team in the league it was always going to be a difficult game for them, the fact they forced overtime is definetly worthy of praise.

  21. Holy Husso! That guy was on fire. Would of been nice to end it with a win but a 4 game losing streak is more the Ducks style. Lol. Thank you for all the game recaps and updates! Hope you continue next year.

  22. Cronin being fired isn’t going to change sloppy plays the coaching staff has brought this team a long way if you make comparisons to last year and early this season. Ducks have a lot of work ahead of them and it’s up to them to be dedicated and also not take penalties. Plus, the Ducks announcers are probably, if not, the best announcers in the league. They always speak big facts and have broad knowledge of the game, the players, and coaching staff of all teams.

  23. I appreciated the stick breaking by Mac T. I think it really showed some emotion that has been lacking all year. I'm not counting Frankie and his temper tantrums.

  24. We need to change from a drop pass team to a shoot the puck team – move the puck forward at the Net! A year of some improvement but we keep turning the puck over and pass vs shoot WAY too much! Cronin is not the guy to take us to playoffs. End of the season making the same mistakes which mean the coach isn’t correcting or just isn’t coaching. Let’s go get 2 top scorers (Mitch Marner for one) and new Head coach and special teams coaches. Drop the dead weight – Lundestrom, Ross, Strom, Leason and yes Fabbri, and get to the playoffs next year! Go Ducks!!!

  25. Hopefully a new video today. Cronin is gone, today is a good day!! Verbeek showing he is serious this off-season.

  26. I decided to choose the ducks as my NHL team. I only got into ice hockey in the 23-24 season as my friend kept inviting me to games to see the Belfast Giants. I didn’t realise I’d find it so interesting so I got a season ticket for this season and we’ve done so well (won both the league and challenge cup and will hopefully make it to the playoffs final)

Anyway, that aside, due to the time difference between Belfast and LA as well as America and Canada in general, I haven’t been able to watch a single full match just highlights, interviews and your videos. All I can really say is that a 20 point improvement is very good but I know they can do better, I think they have a lot of work to do but I just have one question… why is everyone saying to fire Cronin? That’s all I’ve seen everyone saying since I started looking at the ducks social media and I’ve seen all the comments about him. Why is it that everyone so desperately wants him to get the sack? Could you please explain to me, just briefly?

Anyway, it’s time for the off season and we will hopefully have a much more prepared and stronger team for the 25-26 season! I have enjoyed watching your videos this season as I find them informative due to being unable to watch the games live.

    Thank you! 🧡

  27. Great news for you, a new coach can give a chance to the ducks to spread their wings and fly together; a team with so much offensive potential can become a threat with the right coach
