  1. Laine can still be impactful and score in this series if we can cash on a powerplay, but we're not seeing enough grit and hustle in his game rn to justify heavy usage. I do still think he's got a clutch goal or two left in him in the series. Newhook, all speed and no hands. Really tough to see him fumble multiple decent/high danger scoring chances. I agree with many people calling for more grit and toughness, and Arber can provide that to at least simplify clearing net-front opportunities and protect smaller skilled guys. I even like the idea of taking a look at Kapanen or Pezz for an infusion of energy on the bottom lines. MSL has done a great job with this team, although it hasnt always felt that way when we see the team being outmatched like this. The glimpses of Habs skill taking over long stretches of games is encouraging, they just need to fly out the gate with speed, tweak the lineup to tap into more energy and physicality, and play hard for each other. Even if you take a hit, no one watches a guy get cheap shot without some sort of payback. Have each other's back and keep it pushing. Bell Centre crowds this weekend will hype the boys up

  2. no player is above the team. the team culture is more important than one player sorry Patrick Laine. one year left and then bye bye from Montreal ?not normal that a big player like you is so slow on ice. are you injured? if that is the case why are you playing and why is the habs admin letting you play?

  3. Look, Montreal just doesn't have the physicality or the defense to sustain them. Martin St Louis can only work with what he has been provided with… and there isn't very much to work with on defense. The officiating is the same every season. Inconsistent and sometimes horrible. If you're relying on the referees to make good calls to help you win games, well good luck with that. Montreal certainly has goal-scoring capability and goaltending but Montreal lacks the physical presence and defense to put them over the top. It won't surprise me if Washington wins this series in four games.

  4. MSL will put DemiGod on PP 1 and put Laine on PP2. Sit Armia or possibly Laine. Dress Xhekaj and play 7D and 11 F. At least that’s what I would do.

  5. Laine took a hit exiting the Hab's zone at the blueline early in the second seemed to be right hip possibly groin no one picked up on it. He didn't seem right after that.

  6. No disrespect merely here to see what the opposition thought of last nights game. I’ve never seen a fan base blame the refs more than their actual teams internal issues. There’s way more internally that the habs have to solve to win a series than saying the refs are ripping you guys off. Have there been questionable non calls? Of course, that’s playoff hockey. Monty has kept you guys in this series point blank period, aside from your top line there isn’t much production coming from the rest of the team until the last 10. Hell my team has their own problems too but if the refs are the reason to blame as to why you can’t win a 7 game series in the nhl playoffs your cognitive dissonance is insane no matter who you support. Good luck to you guys looking forward to the games at the bell center, you guys have a great young core and a hell of a coach just think there’s still some pieces missing depth wise. Hockey is better when Montreal is in the conversation!

  7. Laine scratched game 3 and if team wins keep him out

He is not only bringing nothing offensively but actually causing turnovers that kill momentum

Same can be said for Matheson but gawd forbid he have to sit for his horrendous 10 ply soft play. Softest “top 4 D” of all the playoff teams, Hutson is more physical than chaos gazelle

Savard at least tries but he clearly is aging out.

Should bring Arber in, whether it’s for Laine to play 11-7 but actually play Arber at forward rather than just give him 5 mins on D

Or if you take out a Strubble of Savard and have Arber on D

Could sit Laine and dress Kapanen he could likely play better centre than No Hands Newhook

  8. ghallager on pp 1. veteran. 21 goals this year and has the most playoff experience out of anyone on the team i believe.
