Did people really think Canadiens would have any chance ? They will most likely not even make playoffs after this year for a few more years. This year was a weird regular season with lots of teams playing terrible. Won’t happen again.
That wasn't a cross-check on Caufield. It was a shove, not even a push. He's a weak player and lacks balance. My 6 year old could knock him off balance.
Laine and so D-man are horrific this series and need to go out but the same old problem MTL had during this year is they don't have a real 2nd line wich show sometime the lack of offensif play
Refs from the start of the series have been letting almost everything go for both teams, it feels more like the reffing for a 2nd or 3rd round matchup instead of a first. That unfortunately favors the Caps as the bigger team.
We need 2 things to happen 1) bring in Arber for some push back 2) the refs need to stop fuckin us over. Not the type to blame losses on the refs but these last 2 games weve clearly been fucked over on the calls
Not a habs fan but anyone who thinks the refs havent been one sided and favored the caps are actually F'ing blind. The amount of penalties that should be called and havent are wild, the refs are literally letting the caps cause potentially serious injuries, sticks to the face, crosses to the face, slashes etc.
I hope the refs in Montreal are just as heavy handed so the caps fans equally see. Feel bad for them how much hasnt been called. Brutal.
Good assessment. I’m a Habs fan so I will probably sound cheated but how can you not call that hard cross check to his head? And how can you call Anderson’s hit on Wilson on the boards and not count Duhaime’s many late hits on the boards? I thought penalties rep supposed to even out? Hmmmm
Ryan Leonard looks much better than Ivan Demidov right now. There shouldn't be much gap between Demidov and Leonard when it comes to each one's chances for the Calder next season.
Both goals, defense nowhere to be found. Montreal misses the net pretty often when in real close and lose tons of chances that way. I don't pay attention enough to other teams to say for sure, but I would think Montreal misses the net more than most teams, at least in those close chances. They rarely ever take shots from the point which they should just to hope for bounces and to keep defense guessing. Washington goalie had a few great saves too that didnt help lol
I could see the habs picking up two wins at home. They’re gradually playing better hockey as the series goes on.
I know habs fans were happy with game 1 but they were badly outplayed for 2 periods. Game 2 was a much better performance from them I thought and they easily could have won with the right bounces.
Honestly I’m really happy with how the habs have played through two. Winning the series doesn’t really matter as long as they can show resilience and ability to stay in these games and be competitive. It’s good experience and I think we’ll be legitimate contenders next year.
Those cross checks were to brutal not to call. Gally gets 2, 1 in each game then Cole gets one in front of net and all 3 were seen. So either the refs are that bad OR Bettmans NHL favours American teams. Pretty sure it's the 2nd choice. Just bad for the game.
Caps fan here and it’s annoying how you guys are saying that the refs are “one sided” the caps have had more penalty minutes 8 chances for Montreal and 7 for Washington I was there for games 1 and 2 and ik how many missed calls there were but come on instead of looking at one singular missed calls for one team think of both of the teams in general not starting up anything just saying yall
As a caps fan and a ref myself, the reffing has been so inconsistent throughout the entire series. There are so many missed calls, some dangerous, some just blatant, and some both. It’s not just the Habs or just the Caps who are getting screwed by the refs, it’s both.
While Montembeault is doing an awesome job in goal, he's not getting a lot of support from the rest of his team. When the Caps are in their O-zone, the Habs are sucking to get the puck away from them or even preventing the Caps from having their way. If the Habs expect to win at home, they are really going to have to step up that part of their game. Even with the Habs 3rd period heroics and the Caps slacking off, they couldn't do much about Thompson, because as good as Montembeault looked, Thompson was better, hands down. As a Caps fan, I'm very glad the Habs chose Montembeault when they could have had Thompson … their loss; our gain. LT for the WIN!
I hate to watch the young Habs getting hit like this knowing Xhekaj is standing there, watching them, unable to do anything. I really dont understand why St Louis likes to see his kids get bullied and then call out the refs, its insane.

The Habs players need to put on some weight in the coming months.
They really look like kids playing with adults.
The referees in both games were a joke.

Both Caps goals came on some absolutely awful defensive breakdowns.
Well done Washington, Canada thanks you….lollllllllll
Montembeault is playing great, his only issue is big rebounds.
young + small = goodbye first round

When there’s constant illegal checks and plays, it’s difficult to actually play the game.
Nobody wants the scabs to win anything. Even when they score a goal , they and their fans act like they won the cup , but how embarrassing.
I don,t get why Xhekaj was not in the mix, Josh Anderson cannot be the only one helping teammates

Blue Jackets fan here: Laine is eating his words and he just needs to focus on playing. He’s too much in his own head with his self confidence.

A high powered offensive team that lost 3/4 final games when playoffs were on the line? This team isn't playoff ready
Montreal players are too small to skate with OV. Wifi and Pez are needed, now.
Canes Devs game two game recap soon? 👀

This was hard
the talk I mean
Do you just not care about MIN vs VGK?
I'm a caps fan but dang Montembeault has been playing amazing for them he's saved them so many times its wild

Did no one see caulfield get cross checked in the face? No call? Bleeding from the face? Are we sure the refs aren’t bias
Montreal has to man up. Play physical, score more goals and they will be fine. Cry about hits…and they will lose.
I hate Montreal with a passion. Their best chance is to win 1 or 2 games before they are inevitably eliminated.
Alex O, has always been a dirty hitter. running guys without the puck, leaves the ice when hitting hits guys. Never gets called out. EVER!!!
We need The Sherrif back on the Ice
They were all snapping their suspenders sayin Montreal wins in six…..pfffff hahaha!! 😂
all of this and still it will be Habs in 6.
If the officiating is like that in mtl there will be a riot. WE TIRED OF GETTING FUCKED BY THE REFS LIKE THAT BETMAN
Unfortunately.. playoff hockey IS different. These boys must grow to become men.
HABS NEED XHEKAJ ON THE ICE! the boys play so much bigger when he's in the lineup.
A series hasn’t been started til a road team wins imo

Would love to hear your thoughts on the return of Gabe Landeskog and how that series is going. Hockey in the west exists!
I hate to be the one to say it, but they need to test Ovechkin. I don’t know how literally nobody is saying it.

if you watch these games through the officiating has been bad against washington at the worst times too. habs fans can keep crying. caps in 4
Crazy game
those refs need to be fired from the playoffs.
Line should be in

Habs win Friday, Lose Sunday, Eliminated Wednesday
