  1. If you look close its a kicked in goal, but no way possible he meant to or he missed his calling for Soccer !

  2. Good goal but โ€œdistinct kicking motionโ€ is a rule with room for interpretation

Itโ€™s all about the interpretation of โ€œdistinctโ€ โ€ฆ. If you interpret it as deliberate (on purpose) this would still be a good goal as Iโ€™m sure the player didnโ€™t mean to.

If you interpret distinct kicking motion as the leg going forwards toward the goal (regardless of the intent of the skater) itโ€™s a tougher call.

  3. Id like to call it a kick because his foot does extend out. However on the other hand, his eyes never look towards the puck, and so there is no way he could have even intentionally kicked it, because he definitely had no idea where it was.

  4. "Didnt even know how the puck managed to do that."

Seems like the announcer is either blind or was trying to avoid the word kick to avoid controversy.

It was a kick, not deliberate though, so good goal

  5. If he hadn't kicked that leg forward his acl was about to tear thats what he said. Pure reaction to falling and that leg being twisted up against the ice, his focus was on taking the hit at that point.

  6. Ironically that's the only kick in goal they're ever going to allow he booted that thing right into the net
