Habs Fans Are Furious Right Now..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the big game last night.. Between the Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals.. It’s game 1 of their playoff series, the Caps won this one in overtime but this game was surrounded by quite a bit of “officiating” controversy.. How do I feel about that? Lets break it down..

  1. I’m torn on Xhekaj. I want the physicality, but is he better than Strubes? Savard isn’t coming out, so it’s up to Andy, Heineken, Strubes, and Slaf to up the physicality. Josh is already there, Mario Armia needs an appearance.

  2. St. Louis should try a line with Heineman, Kapanen and Demidov….6'2"-198 lbs., 6'2"-194 lbs. and 6"1'-194 lbs. Both Heineman and Kapanen are capable of putting the puck in the net and have fairly good size. Demidov? Well, Demidov is Demidov and with two good sized wingers who knows what might happen.

  3. what I'm most surprised about is how the caps 2nd goal wasn't a high stick. that stick was higher than Slafs high stick goal a couple of weeks ago that counted. I don't know the exact ruling of high stick but it was literally on height of Beauvilliers head

  4. I can't wait for Hughes to find a 2nd center😒
I dont want to be disrespectful to Newhook but… he can't be the center on this line. He put the effort but doesn't have enough talent to play on that line… he's like Lehkonen when he was in Montreal, couldn't score a goal to safe his life, having so many opportunities, but Newhook is no way near what Lehkonen was with the habs defense wise. Laine doesn't do much to help, even doing more to hurt the team sometimes… so you put Deminov with a center that is mostly running around fast but going nowhere and a player that skates like he's pulling a bus, that is involved in the game like a rock in your shoe… and have the behavior of a "dont give a f***" cat. You ask him a question… he look bothered… someone touch him on the ice, he's mad and wear his usual mean mug face… besides his shot, Laine doesn't bring much… They have to find players to go with Demidov if they don't want to screw the kid.
I would rather see Evans and Heineman than Newhook and Laine… or at least put Evans center with Laine and Demidov… cause right now… we don't have a second line that we can count on… your second center can't be at 25% on face-off …

  5. I'm 100% on board with your comments. As a long time Montreal fan (I watched the '86 Stanley Cup as an 11 year old) and one thing we have always said in Montreal is that you play against the opposing team AND the refs. We can b!+c# and complain, but we never dwell on it, because, as you put it, "this is playoff hockey!"

The last thing I want is for Habs fans to become like Leafs fans always looking for a scapegoat (like the non-call on Gretzky in game 6 in '93 that they STILL whine about). If we win this thing, we do it with all the good and bad bounces, against the opposing teams and the refs, good luck and bad. The Stanley Cup isn't hoisted by whiners but by those who persevere and fight until the last hundredth of a second!!!

  6. St-Louis hates Arber that’s why he won’t play at all in the playoffs … we need some muscle on our d line , nobody except guhle can make a hit ! We need Arber for strubble 100% ! I still think we won’t win anything with st-Louis behind the bench , we need pascal Vincent as the Habs head coach

  7. I'd be upset if I was a cap fan, the way they collapsed in the third period, they were happy that there were no more time left on the clock. Habs in 5.

  8. Blame Ron McLean! "Ovechkin has never scored an OT winner in the playoffs in his career"
Ovechkin scores his first OT winner immediately after.
