Struble….he was next to useless in game one.
I wonder why Marty doesn't give chance for Kapanen to play as center, bc that is his original spot and there isn't that special playing by the centers behind Suzi?

No line changes are needed. They just need to learn how to finish their work successfully. To get it into the OT is not enough in playoffs. I am sure they work on it.
Demidov is too young and badly hunted by Caps to think he will be a game changer in this playoffs. I more believe in Slaf who is playing amazing hard plays and creating chances for Suzy and Cole. Slaf is taking advantage of his experience from tough games played in playoffs in big senior tournaments with his national team. What Demidov did? Nothing yet because he’s not used to be hardly checked during all puck possession. He needs to learn playoffs while he’s not enough experience in senior hockey yet.
Regarding Xhjekaj … something happened in between MSL and him. I don’t know what but definitely it bothers me.
Arber makes too many mistakes. If Gally can't play I'll bring Kapanen not Arber seriously we don't need a goon we make OT with our lineup because we played ICE HOCKEY

If I'm a player on Washington Capital team and they do have a really big physical team I am targeting all the smaller players like Caulfield Hudson. Once you are really physical with the smaller players they're not going to be so willing to go in the boards and try to retrieve pucks. That's what a winning coach that Washington has will have to do to beat the Canadians smaller less physical players. Pound pound pound pound pound Pound and just keep being physical

I see St.Louis as the next coach of the Rangers IF Arber does not get to experience playoff hockey , while still keeping Savard and Struble in the lineup

Arber will be a player on a Stanley Cup team, and if MSL doesn't give him the right guidance, another team will. He has the skill to grow, a hell of a shot, skates good, and is a nuclear deterrent. Without players like Arber we will never get a cup, too small and easy to push around
I get your positive approach but Armia playing hurt. Savard on his last legs and likely a better 7th D PK specialist. So add Arber to get the experience and upsize. 2nd line needs an adjustment. Get Newhook to the wing and look for another bigger Centre from Laval. And get Caufield back to the left side PP and drop Laine to the no. 2 PP. Any adjustments maybe too late if we lose game 2.
Struble currently brings more to the table as an all around defender. Until Struble falters or there’s an injury, Xhekaj will be watching from the press box.
MSL thinks it`s still the regular season hockey and I wouldn`t be surprised if one or two star player`s are going to get injured from the physical play and Washington is going to be even more physical tonight knowing Montreal doesn`t have the players in the lineup to answer the bell.MSL is out of his league and dreaming how the playoff`s are played.
I want to see Xhekaj as much as anyone but, unlike Josh Anderson, he doesn’t know how to pick his spots and routinely puts the team in penalty kill situations which is detrimental to the teams success in the playoffs.
St louis wont be back next year.He has made too many mistakes.One of the biggest was Not play the younger goalie when he was on a hot streak.

There not going to play him so get over it. He has been sitting for 10 games . He is not in any way ready to play physically. Put yourself in his position he is also pissed and resentful . I agree this is a huge disappointment but for whatever reason they have made this decision so live with it .

I don't think they outplayed us too much physically. Nick, Cole aren't the strongest guys, but they showed the way. If we're gonna lose this series it's because MTL wasn't able to find solid second line for the whole season. Demidov isn't the solution cuz he is young and fresh from the KHL, but NHL is played on a smaller ice and in the NHL you have less time for everything. He need someone to create time and space for him. It's not Laine, cuz his only trick is his shot right now and definitely not Newhook, he is struggling to be productive the whole season (except few moments) and everybody on the line with him usually struggles too. I wonder why he is still on the second line and flying under the radar because if it was Slaf everybody would be furious. If second line won't perform, It's gonna be easy for WASH cuz they'll just gonna focus on the MTL 1st line and that will be enough.
