  1. I don’t know why people emphasize on how much trash Larry bird talked. You should be emphasizing on how good he actually was. There wasn’t a guy in the entire league who he didn’t give it to on a consistent basis

  2. Larry Bird is unique. I remember him as the only NBA player that can shoot a turn around fade away jumpshot with both hands. I tried to practice my left hand like him. It never works. Don't know how he did it.

  3. As a Laker and Magic fan there was no player I hated more than Larry as a kid. But… as a man, and after all was said and done… I f**kin love that dude!

  4. Larry Legend, the most clutch player in NBA history. There is no true GOAT in the NBA, there are 8 or 9 guys in that conversation. Larry was not only the best shooter, he passed like Magic, rebounded like Wilt, stole like Stockton, was a 3X all-defensive team member and the King of the 40/50/90 club. The 80s, era of the Superstars:Magic, Kareem, MJ, Dream, Nique, Dr J, Moses. Larry beat em' all!!!!🏀

  5. I like Brian Shaw for certain. However, I'm a black dude that grew up on West side Chicago in the 80s. Saw Lakers vs Celtics trilogy. I don't get why B Shaw was still uncertain of Bird's skills until seeing it physically for himself after all those years watching Lakers vs Celts. I don't get it.

  6. I love to see and hear you guys getting together. The smiles you have are genuine and show you were real competitors, but you respected each other.
I watched a lot of those games and I was disturbed by reports of Bird “trash talking.” It was an unfair characterization because I feared it was racist. But now, 35 years later I get the real story. Bird razzed other players in a playful way. Y’all are great for telling it how it was.

  8. If you study Larry's history, he had great respect for the black dudes because when he was growing up they let him play with them. He did a great job in defusing the situation with Rodman and how Larry would be just another player if he were black. That was a tense thing, and Larry just didn't take the bait. So he talked trash, but he respected his opponents. Man, the league was great back then. Those battles with Celtics, Lakers and Pistons were wars.

  9. Larry: I’m offended a white dude is guarding me.
Also Larry: I want you two black guys to play me 2 on 1, only to beat me by one point. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Ain’t no one was gonna stop Larry. Color didn’t matter.

  10. Normal rookie hazing: Hey rook, carry this bag for me
Larry Bird rookie hazing: Hey rook, show up at this gay bar tonight.

  11. There will Never be another 80's style Pro Basketball, so glad a was able to watch it when it happened. NBA is missing something these days.
