going into the last game of the day the VGK/MIN our game has been the most competitive where there was actual lead changes and back and forth play all the other playoff games were ostensibly blowouts and not very competitive
Just a point – usually if you are out-hitting a team it's usually because you are chasing the game. You don't tend to throw hits when you have the puck.
You guys played great on Saturday for 30 minutes. Decent for the next 15, and then things went badly. Leading in hits doesn't mean you "controlled the game".

In the last half of the game the Blues had 3 shots on goal and two of those were after it was 5-3 , meaningless shots.
