Im hoping Adams gets fired this week and Terry finally hires an EXPERIENCED GM like Brian Burke , Pierre Dorion or Jarmo Kekalainen . Also Rob Blake LA and Brendan Shanahan laffs president are both on expiring contracts and they might not get renewed if their teams go out in the first round AGAIN! Lastly , Ron Francis, Steve Yzerman are their jobs safe ? Terry needs to let his new EXPERIENCED GM spend to the cap as all playoff teams spend to the cap!
If there is ONLY one firing i hope its D coach Marty Wilford.
WTF is with the media in this town, a young player has a bad year and you want him gone . Team D plus SOFT D had a lot to do with UPL 's numbers this year . Get a new D coach and UPL's performance improves, guaranteed!

Changing GMs and coaches every year isnt the solution, adding to our top 6 and developing defensive structure is what will take us out of laughing stock imo

I feel the Zucker quote, "hope is a terrible strategy" is a comment directed at Pegula's locker room pep talk. I see other teams (specifically Detroits captain Dylan Larkin) mentioning that no movement at the trade deadline was really disappointing. This is absolutely a missed opportunity for management to make the team better to compete.

Joe: you media guys are the reason for the 14 year playoff drought. All you do is knee jerk. "Trade UPL", "Fire Adams" The media knee jerked years ago to get rid of Lindy and look! The team is so desperate its right back where it started! With Lindy as the coach! …Lindy has had ONE year with this team… This team has the 3rd best player in hockey (Tage), 7th in the league in team scoring. They had at least 20 one goal losses this year (accounting for empty netters), Peterka is on pace to be an 😯 point player along with Norris, my money is on Kulich hitting 40 goals in 4 years. Plus Mcleod and Quinn are improving. Benson and Kozak are youre worker bees getting dirty in the corners pulling up pucks. Byrum is outstanding, Docker looks promising. UPL was not played right this year. He needs to play 90% of the games to be effective. And start. That means play the first 9 games of the season from the GET-GO. Not stagger him with Levi (Because Joe loves Levi even though he has zero NHL winning cache) for the first six games get off to a 1-5 start and take him out every time hes heating up so that he cant catch a groove, then lose 13 in a row create a gaping psychological wound to stay with him for the rest of his career like a Clint Malarchuk neck scar. I guarantee UPL will be an elite goalie on some other team if he gets moved. But hes so mismanaged, if he cant be managed right then hell get f-ed up in the head. Again, this is on Lindy, but Lindy hasnt had enough time to figure this out, because hes only been here a year, because of 14 years of knee jerking, primarily agitated by the media. Thats YOU. Adams did his job. The team is 7th in the league in scoring. This team is a playoff contender with the right tweaking. I say spend to the cap, retain this core, improve wherever else you can, train like hell, tell UPL the first 15 games are yours when the season starts and put big money down on playoffs. Or else you risk another 5 year rebuild kirfluffle. New Gm, new goalie, yada yada yada.
Giving Adams the titles talked about here would be a promotion. Who the fuck would promote this incompetent idiot?!?!? I've been a die hard for almost 40 years. That may be the last straw for me. I think I'm completely out if that happens. I go out of my way to follow this team. It would be pretty easy to shift that time to something else…
He will get promoted within the org….and Jason Karmonos will take over as GM
Pegula will not bring in an experienced GM because he will not have an " outsider" telling him how to run this organization. This organization has been dysfunctional for over 20 years now. Move along nothing to se here.

This is a very insular franchise now. Go back to when Botterill was fired a few weeks after they said they would keep them. I think it was Kim who said they felt burned by the hockey world, and they would just do it their way from now on. So this is what you get. Guys like Adams and Matt Ellis were identified years ago for roles and Adams has held different positions across the spectrum. He's a lifer in some form or another because a clueless owner likes him for reasons only he has. When I hear Adams talk, I never get the sense that he's terribly confident or even sure of himself in the role of GM, plus he makes the odd comments we are all aware of (palm trees, Norris was ready for the playoffs, etc).
I got a chuckle out of the Kraken firing Bylsma as coach after 1 year, but promoting Botterill to GM. This league isn't rocket science, it's star-driven, with a bunch of recycled guys.
