Jamie McLennan on Elias Pettersson, Demko and the opening weekend of the playoffs
Former NHL Goaltender & TSN NHL Analyst Jamie McLennan joined the guys and talked about if Elias Pettersson will be able to turn his game around, a possible contract extension with Thatcher Demko and more.
Talent only goes so far without the necessary work ethic, a no excuses attitude, and the commitment to continuously improving your skills and conditioning. Bottom line, Petterson needs to check his entitlement and grasp the incredible investment the Canucks mgmt., franchise, and fans have made in him.
Tocchet abuses his best players and they leave. Kuzmenko, Miller, zadorov, cole, that other Swede. Fire Tocchet if they renew his contract Canucks will be like the coyotes. Dump and chase the puck wtf that is for loser teams.
The money is all relative… 20 years ago, a million was worth the same as $11.6, it’s called inflation. Nowadays, these guys are much younger and the media is focused on views so they narrate the scenario, and you couple this with online content.
F’ off with this bs narrative that these days we should expect more from players and their salary plays a part.
Let EP breath and come back fit or unfit… deal with it at that time. Otherwise, stop narrating your questions to get the desired responses you want.
Jamie McLennan is just another Canucks hockey media talking head putting out the same old BS hype "I still believe in Petterson" —- with a "90% chance of coming back". LOL — What else do you expect a Canucks hockey media talking head to say to the loyal fans? The truth? —- that Petterson will never live up to the huge superstar expectations with the ridiculous $11.6 million contract? Of course not. Petey might come back next season to put up more goals and stats, but it's extremely unlikely that he will improve up into the Top 10-15 League Leaders for goals/assists like JT Miller did the last couple of seasons, or like Quinn Hughes would have except for his injury this year. If Petey gets into the top 50-100 next season that will be it. And the same in the years after that.

Petterson, should hire a strict personal trainer/ physiotherapist. peanuts compared to his paycheque. Tim Hunter, is he available?
