  1. i mean the reality is, the rangers stocked on defense with the idea that if they make the playoffs they can have depth. Maybe he deserve better communication within his role but every team have a player who's the odd man out. it sucks

  2. Just too bad when certain players don't play up to their expectation and those that do get labeled.

  3. He scratched both Perrault and Otter, BOTH. Maybe you should go back to your Hockey 101 class. You failed the first time, miserably!

  4. Imagine constantly playing the criminal kandre after making mistakes after mistakes and never giving this guy a fair chance

  5. De Haan I don’t blame you at all for being pissed and he’s still a stand up guy cuz he lied and said everyone in this room is a good guy when that’s clearly not true Panarin would rather be raping a woman than getting down to block a shot or get back on the back check

  6. I’m sure De Haan is a cool dude but he is at best a 4th line defenseman. I don’t like to see players like this upset considering he wants to play for the team. Maybe Laviolette could’ve done something different with him considering the season was over in December

  7. Guy was odd man out- Laviolette had to play Soucey since JT had bacically convinced him to come- remember him sitting Soucey and Brian Boyle commenting that he wondered if it pissed Miller off that he'd gone out on a limb and this was making him look foolish- next game Soucey was back and never left the lineup again. An inside look at the political powder keg that was this NYR season. Coach had no capitol left after December.

  8. He played 3 games and they did not lose one of those.
And then he was scratched and never played again.
That's the kind of decision that makes good conspiracy theories when you add it to all the other stuff that went on this year. 😉

  9. Wow! This guy should be a coach down the line. I like the way he sees the situation as a whole. 🙂
In the mean time I hope the front office listened to what he said. It is leadership stuff for sure.
He speaks like he was a Ranger for years.
I totally agree with him. This team should be in the playoffs with the pieces they have and they don't need to blow the whole thing up.
I like when he said that the Rangers should have big expectations next season.
He sounds like a guy who wants to be part of the solution despite the treatment he got.
I'd keep him if I had a say for sure.
Very refreshing and thoughtful exit interview.

  10. Playing Vakkie, Borgen, Miller, etc.. OVER this guy?!
Just shows how CLUELESS the Rangers organization truly is!🙄😫🤦‍♂️

  11. Hard to believe he only played three games for the Rangers. They won every time he played then Laviolette scratched him. I hope he gets with an organization that will put him on the ice.

  12. It's one thing if he sits and the team is doing great and on an incredible winning streak. That fact is that after the 3 games he played the D was awful and Lavi not giving CDH a look just to shake things up a bit is an indictment on how bad of coaching job Lavi did this year.

  13. I truly appreciate his candor. Some great quotes here!

Soucy was a failed experiment, while CDH was off to a promising start. Unfortunate.

  14. I have a lot of respect for da Haan after this interview. One would think he could have been a positive in the locker room. He seems to have the character a team needs in the mix. Opportunity lost IMHO.

  15. I like how candid and honest Calvin is and feel bad how much Lavi screwed him over not playing him. Lavi is a Much Worse coach than i thought, Housley too!!

  16. Guess it makes sense. Your pp gets outscored by the penalty kill and you don’t change it. Your defense leaves guys in front of the net all alone. Why change it? The guy plays a few good games, let’s bench him. 🤬

  17. De Hann got a raw deal .he looked very good in the few games he played. K.Miller should have been benched .and gave De Hann more of a chance .

  18. Drury wont do the right thing this is the kind of guy they need to keep around but dirty hasn’t proven to me yet he can push the right buttons and get the right guys such a disappointment
